More on 6 Fat Men!

It's slowly coming along! I am such a slow stitcher! Unlike Trisha from the Hooty Girls! She is a speed stitcher! Puts me to shame! lol I so need to get my eyes checked, I am having to use readers on top of my glasses and it's getting worse! My PsA meds make it so hard too, vision blurriness and changes stink.

This Saturday is our PINS group, and I'm looking forward to it. I've missed the last 2 meetings due to being sick and my momma being in the hospital, so I'm crossing my fingers that I make this one!

My Remicade seems to not be working like it used to, and I'm worried cause that medicine was such a life saver. I don't want to relapse, my feet hurt something fierce at night and my back is being a major punk. I need daily back rubs! Which I don't get. :( Oh well, I can get them, but I would have to pay for them! Massage Envy here I come! My co-worker Chantel gave me a gift card for an hour massage and I'm gonna use it after my Feb.1st IV treatment!

Hope to get some stitching done tonight!

I want to thank Trisha from The Hooty's Girls! I love it! And yes, it's a tea cosy, but I'll use it as a hat! lol It fits me to a tee!

Welcome 2012!

A new year has come, and I'm excited for new wonderful changes in my life! I have been made so happy lately that it makes my heart burst with gladness!

I have started on 6 Fat Men by Lizzie Kate! I got my linen from Abcedarius, Susan the shop owner was so nice to us. The Hooty Girls went shopping! Thanks to Liz for driving! It was awesome riding in her race car!

Countdown Y'all!

I can't believe Thanksgiving has come and gone already. I prepared Thanksgiving dinner and took it over to my Momma's house so she could enjoy all the yummy's of the season. I'm so glad that we were blessed to have my momma home from the hospital. Now it's time for Christmas!!!!
I'm working on a pillow that I got out of the GOSM ornament issue. It's very pretty and simple. I love the simple elegance of it. I'll post pictures tomorrow!

Crazy Week so far!

My Momma got sick and has been in ICU on life support! I'm so happy to say that she was able to sustain herself and is breathing on her own! I've been up at the hospital everyday, and I'm really exhausted! I'm gonna sleep soundly tonight! I've not stitched since Momma went in the hospital! But I'm gonna stitch tonight!

Wahoo!!!!

Life changes!

I am back! So many have emailed and asked me whether or not I was gonna blog again and the answer is Yes! I haven't in so long and while I am still cross stitching, I just didn't blog about it! Certain things happened over the summer and I was hurt by a friend that I didn't see coming. But I've decided that I know who my real friends are and I'm blessed that I have the ones I do have.

Summer came and went way to quickly! School is back in progress and I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving break in 2 weeks! I know, Thanksgiving already!?!

My cross stitch group The Hooty Girls are still meeting! We just meet at the IHOP in Buford! We have a wonderful time eating wonderful food and then we stitch for 3 hours! We have a wonderful waitress Jenna and they have welcomed us with open arms! Thank you to IHOP!

I am proud to say that I have lost 73 pounds so far! I'd love to lose 10 more, but with the holidays coming and all the yummy goodness coming up, I'll be happy to stay the same till the new year! Exercise has become my personal outlet for me! I still love to eat, but I eat less now and most times I can't even finish my food. The not so happy side effects of weight loss are the excess skin and flab. :( If I win the lottery, I will have a tummy tuck and a thigh tuck! Plus new boobs! hahahaha

I am starting on Christmas ornaments this week for family and friends! So I hope to post pictures after Tuesday night stitch in!

Working on a Biscornu!

I've started a Barbara Anna Design with squirrels! It is so cute! Plus I got the Thanksgiving on to start next! There was a really cute Halloween Owl one that I bought too! I need to go get new print cartridges for the printer so the copies will be crisp and clear!

Had my stent removed today, I'm still experiencing some discomfort, but Dr. Cleveland informed me that it should lessen up in a couple of days! I am so ready to be over with all this kidney stone mess!

I guess I'm off for the night! I'll see y'all later!

Working on a 4th of July goody!

Every year I have a 4 TH of July party and I make alittle something to be entered into a drawing! I stitch something cute and all the girls put their names in the bowl, and hope that their name's chosen! I'm working on a cute piece from Prairie Moon! It is turning out so cute!

John's getting ready to leave for South Carolina again, he will be gone over my birthday! :(

I'm bummed, but work is slow here in Ga, so he's having to travel, and it means money, so that's always a good thing!

I'm looking forward to getting that new Just Cross Stitch Halloween book! I loveeeeeeee Halloween and I'm excited to see the new 50 ornaments that they have come up with! I'm getting ready to start an ornament from last years' Just Cross Stitch Halloween issue! Makes me very happy!

I'll post a picture once I get it started!

Tomorrow will be a busy day for me, gym as usual, plus gotta visit my friend in Winder.

Wow! Where have I been?

Summer has come and I have been busy! John and I went to St.Augustine for a much needed week away! It was awesome and almost like a mini second honeymoon. We had a wonderful time! Makes me hope to live on the beach one day.

I am excited to say that I've been invited to join the PINS cross stitch group. My first meeting/stitch-in will be this Saturday! My birthday too! What a great present to me! I'm still helping out at the shop once a week during the summer. I watch the shop on Tuesdays and then we have our little stitch-in on Tuesday night! I named our little group, we are "The Hooty Girls"! I love owls and we all have boobs! No pun intended! Jacob is designing me a cute logo for the group! Can't wait to see what he has designed for me to stitch.

I'm still on my weight loss journey, I'm down 65lbs, I've got 20 more to go to reach my goal. I haven't worn a size 12 in soooo long! It's been so worthwhile, I love going to the gym now, I don't want to go back to size 22 ever again! Now, I just have to get my kid Jason on track! lol

Stitching has been alittle harder for me due to my vision issues, but I'm going to the eye doctor in July, so I'm hoping for some change! I'm looking forward to this week! Hope we get to go canoeing, just John and I. Cross our fingers that he has a free day for me! He's been having to travel to South Carolina to work, he stays at a hotel during the week and comes home for the weekend.

I'll try not to be such a bad blogger! I've been reading y'all's, just not blogging myself! I've missed it, so I'm hoping to blog at least twice a week!

Happy Mother's Day Y'all!

Wishing everyone near and far that they have a wonderful Mother's Day! We have one of the toughest jobs out there, and yet we willing do it with all our hearts every minutes and every breath of our life! I love my Momma and thank her for all she has provided for me to become the woman I am today!

Now y'all know me, I am such a slacker about finishing one project before I start another. Yep, I started LK Christmas Rules! Maybe I might get it done in time for Christmas! lol

I'm probably gonna go rest in a bit! It stinks having a spring cold! I haven't been sick since Jan./Feb. I think, can't remember. My throat is so scratchy feeling! Ugh!

We are down to 15 days left to school! Yippee!

The Stitch Store will be closed tomorrow, so no stitch-in! I've either called or sent everyone a text that there will not be any stitch-in tomorrow night!

Also, everyone please keep Liz's nephew in your prayers, he was in a bad car wreck and is in critical condition per Liz's text to me! So shout out to the Lord for healing!

Hoping everyone had a great Easter holiday! I know I did, my parents and brother ate dinner with me and my crew. John smoked a turkey and it was fabulous!

Gotta learn the new phone!

Got my new smart phone Friday night! I'm gonna have to go to the tutorial at the Verizon store to help me figure this sucker out. But its great! Love it! I can FB anytime I want! lol I decided on a Samsung Galaxy Continuum. I looked at the HTC Incredible, Droid Pro II, but my vision helped me make the best choice for my eyes! The screen image was really sharp on the Galaxy phone, something that my poor eyes need. I did look at the IPhone, just couldn't justify paying that much for a phone. The Thunderbolt was sweet too, but way too much for my pocket book. Thank you Johnny for buying me a new toy! :)

One thing though, Verizon was unable to transfer and of my phone numbers from my old phone! I fried that one! So I will need to get all my stitching buddy's phone numbers again! Sorry y'all!

I have been working on 2 projects, Belle Pepper and LHN's new needlebook with the pin cushion. Belle Pepper is on my needlework stand and I'm taking the smaller project with me to stitch-ins on Tuesdays.

I helped an old friend move yesterday, in the rain! But I knew they needed help so I volunteered myself and my son Jason to help! We had to haul stuff up to a second story apartment :( My body is stiff today! Plus it's stilling raining here and that makes my RA unhappy! As much as I should go to the gym today, I think I will rest my weary body.

I'm hoping that everyone has a great rest of the weekend!

To see or not to see................

Hmmm, as I sit here at the computer with readers on top of my glasses, I pitched a tiny fit and dug out my contacts. I had hoped that having the contacts sitting right up on my eyeballs, I'd be able to see better! Dangnabit! It didn't work! I still had to put on readers to see up close. Sighing very loudly in Dacula! I will say that I got a LOT of compliments on my new look, so does vanity win out or do I go back to glasses? I guess I will try a new pair of contacts soon, maybe they make bi-focal contacts? who knows?

Both boys are gone for the weekend, so it's very quiet here at the house. I do have the cats to keep me company, John is watching(sleeping!) TV. lol I need to get ready for bed, but I might watch alittle more TV myself.

Has anyone purchased one of Just Another Button Company's new pin cushion kits? They are super sweet and cute. If you got one, where did you find it?

I'm working every evening on LHN's Belle Pepper, so cute, don't really know how I want to finish it. I may try a stand up cube, I know Vonna has a great tutorial on cubes. I finished the cardinal from Button Up Birdies! I'm working on my 3rd birdie right now!

Plus I have major exciting news! My baby brother and his girlfriend are getting married! They set a date and it's Dec. 10, 2011! I am thrilled! So y'all will most likely be tired of hearing me talk about the wedding! lol Since I know Kelly reads my blog, I can't show pictures of their wedding sampler that I am working on! boo-hoo! It's gonna be awesome!

Jacob has been under the weather since Saturday with a stomach bug. He attended Taste of Dacula and came back home sick as a dog! Poor guy!

Sunday Ramblings!

I'm very tired today! :( I thought I was on the mend, I must have done too much yesterday. Grocery store and the gym did me in! My husband John told me I wasn't ready yet, guess I should have listened to him! heheheheh

I won't tell him that he was right!

I've worked on LHN "Belle Pepper", I'm loving it so far. I'm getting ready to start the middle section, I'll post pictures tomorrow when I've got more completed.

Our spring weather here lately has got me wanting to paint the inside of our house. I'm so wanting to go to IKEA and check out that store. I'm hoping that maybe I can make the trip soon. I just know I need to get organized, yet I want our home to look cozy and lived in. Plus I'm wanting new leather furniture. We have burgundy leather furniture now, I'm hoping to get saddle tan next time. I want matching leather recliner's, so that I can put my feet up at the end of the day. Ahhhh! The thought of it!

Well, it's getting late and I need to get ready for work tomorrow. I go for my next RA treatment on Tuesday, I'm hoping they will not cancel it since I've been sick with pneumonia. Cross your fingers friends!

Feeling better! Thank goodness!

I started on LHN's Belle Pepper, it's gonna be really cute and I love the colors. I did change the linen color on this one. The picture on the pattern looks darker, but in real life the linen was very light. The Straw Bonnet color would not have even showed up on the linen that the pattern called for, so I just went with a darker linen.

My Saturday will be filled with grocery shopping and cleaning up the house :( I hate chores! Since I was under the weather, do you think any of those things got done? Nope! We women are so under appreciated! hahaha We are expected to hang tough, suck it up, keep moving until we drop!

I worked even with pneumonia, we had a county reviewer in the other day, and I was coughing and the lady wanted to know why I was at school once she found out I had pneumonia? I just told her that my manager thought I'd be ok to work and so here I was. So we will see if anything comes of it. It'd be different if I had no sick time to take, but I have over 22 days of sick time! It's just that if I take off, then the manager has to come out of her office and work!

Well, I guess I've rambled enough for now, I've gotta go to the grocery store! Ugh! I hate wasting my time at the store!

Back to the Drs. and Pneumonia on the menu!

Jeez, can't get better, went back to the Dr's. and know I have 2 shots plus 4 new meds to hopefully knock this out! Truthfully I do feel somewhat better Sunday. I got the shots on Saturday afternoon, Dr. Andrews did say I'd feel better quickly with these shots. I just know that we have people out all week and I really can't be out, even though I should take the time off.

Yesterday was our luncheon at the shop and everyone had a great time stitching and hanging out enjoying the company of friends.

I got my newest LHN pattern Belle Pepper and I will be starting that one this afternoon. It is so cute!

I taught a bunch of Girl Scouts last Monday night how to cross stitch and they were fun to be around. Had 15 little girls who were a joy to teach. I will be going back on the 21st and the 28th to help the girls finish their projects.

Bronchitis Stinks!

I'm worn out! I've been sick since Friday night and I even went to the doctor :( Have meds, but still feeling puny. Haven't taken a day off from work since we have had others out. I even cancelled stitch-in tonight at The Stitch Store. Sorry friends, but I want to be better for our Saturday luncheon!

I've not even been to the gym :(

Weekend is almost here!

I have been trying to keep up with my exercising everyday, which I am doing, so why is it that when I look in the mirror I still see a fat dumpy person? I know I can't afford lipo to get rid of the belly fab :( Geez! And I have lost some of my most prized possession, my breasts! I hate that they are deflated! Boohoo! I had wanted to lose the belly first dang it! Oh well, a person can't win! lol

My girlfriend Leila who passed away last week had a beautiful funeral service. Such a shame to die so young. 38 :( When someone close to you passes away, you start to realize just how short life is. Please take time for yourself and your family. Tell them everyday that you love them and do things to make YOU happy! That's what I'm gonna try to do from now on.

I'm working on alot of Button Up Birdies! I need to get one put together so y'all can see how great they look!

I finally get to go back to my normal work hours at school. I've been going in at 7:30am to 2:30 pm, and now since Miss Jeanette and Doreen are finally back from their knee surgeries, I'm back to 9:30 to 2pm. I will miss the extra money :( But I'll get to sleep in again! :)

Well, it's close to 11pm and I need to hit the sack!

More Baby pictures!

Friday night was spent over at Tiffany's when John fixed a broken outlet in their bathroom. So that gave me time to hold Reagan again! She is so sweet, and sleeps all the time! Give her another couple of weeks and she will start being more awake!

Worked Saturday at The Stitch Store, I encouraged 2 more people to sign up and do The Button Up Birdies from The Victoria Sampler! I just love Cathy Jean Designs! So cute and they are gonna look awesome this coming Christmas on the tree!

The weather says we might have bad weather again this week? I don't think so! I'll be surprised if we do! It's been nice today, not sunny, but not raining either!

Finally got to hold Reagan!

Look at me! I got to get my baby fix for the day! lol Went over to see my niece Tiffany and to love on my great niece Reagan :) She is so sweet and tiny! She weighs 5lbs and 3oz now! 18.5" long. She drinks this special preemie formula, I got to feed her today. Tiffany got up and started doing some chores that needed done since I was there to hold the squeaker!

I am back to school tomorrow! Boo-hoo! I really liked having all this extra time off! At least we only have a 4 day week!

I started another ornament last night, plus I'm working on a wedding sampler for my brother and soon to be sister in law! No wedding date yet, but since this is a pretty big piece, I figured I better get started!

New Finish

Here's my first ornament finished for 2011! Wahoo! This is from the 2010 Just CrossStitch Ornament issue. It was a really fast piece to do! I'm loving these little birds from The Victoria Sampler.

Thank you for your prayers and concerns over my neighbors. The are fine, have found themselves another temporary home to live in. Their landlord is rebuilding the home that burned down, he has told them that they can move back when the house is rebuilt. That's a really nice landlord in my book. Karen's work has donated furniture and money to help them get back on their feet.

Our snow is melting away and we go back to school on Tuesday! I still can't believe we had a whole week off due to the snow and ice! Yikes! It's on January friends! I am feeling alittle tired today! I'm very stiff today and can't stay warm! I hate that feeling!

Pray for my neighbors please!

My next door neighbor's house burned down this morning! Friends, let me tell you that is the scariest thing and I have to vent big time! When did it become a burden to help out your neighbor? At 5:30am this morning, I had huddled in my house 11 devastated friends whom I've known for 5 years. No one else even opened their doors to check to see what was going on! And please don't tell me you didn't see the blazing house on fire or you didn't hear the sirens? And instead of coming down the road to gawk, how about offering to help out your fellow man? Lord, please forgive us as we've become so uncaring and indifferent to each other.

Thank the one neighbor who graciously gave money when I know they don't have it to give, and thank you for protecting my friends. They had no insurance as renters, they lost 2 cars in the fire also. Red Cross put them up in a hotel for tonight, I've offered my home to them if they need a place to stay.

Bless the ones who lost everything in the house fire, welcome into your arms the pets that did not make it out and bless my son Jason who is so distraught over the fact that his best friends are gone, he loves that family like his own and I know he wants all of them to move in with us. Help me Lord to help him get over this tough time.

Amen!

We are watching their two dogs tonight, a Boxer/Pitbull mix and a Siberian Husky. They are camped out on my back porch tonight. Snuggle close together pups, it will be cold tonight. I've fixed up a area on my enclosed back porch for them with lots of blankets and pillows.

I'm very tired tonight as I'm sure Karen and her family are exhausted too, we tried to salvage some pictures and afew clothes from the house after the fireman gave us the go ahead to go back inside. (We were told we shouldn't go in, but since we are covered in snow and ice, the rain /sleet tonight would ruin the only room left in the house that had a few things we could try to save.)

Look at our Snow!

Georgia has snow again! Wahoo! We got a snow day, and they have closed school for tomorrow!

I was only out in it for a very short time! Too cold! lol

I've been toasty warm in the house by the fire and I have been working on a new cross stitch!

John is sick, took him to the doctor on Sunday and I know he is miserable, just hope I don't catch it!

This is what I made for my niece for Reagan! We had her baby shower this past Saturday and Tiffany got so much stuff for the baby! Reagan is still in the NICU so we are hoping to have her home by Feb.

First Stitch-In of the year!

As I got home today, I knew I had to hurry up and get my school things completed, I am adding to our Farm 2 School board. So I found my veggies that I needed printed and got them cut out, so I'm ready to get them up tomorrow! Whew!

Last night was our first stitch-in back in a long time. I had alot of fun with our regular crew! I also taught a little young lady how to cross stitch last night. This is Jenna and she was a very polite and willing to learn young lady! I know this will be the beginning of many hours of cross stitch that she will love! Jenna is a Girl Scout and I've volunteered to teach the troop how to cross stitch if they so desire! Great job so far Miss Jenna!

Don't forget Saturday is our anniversary sale! We will have been open for 1 year! I will only be at the shop the the morning as my niece is having her baby shower on Saturday too! So if you want to see DaisyGirl, drop by before 12:30!

My house is so quiet except for the TV noise in the background. Both boys are gone with friends and John is still working late. I guess I must get used to the quiet, even though my heart is protesting the fact that my children are older and will be venturing out on their own. Spring semester starts Jan. 6th for Jacob, I'm glad he has chosen to live at home to save money, I will be taking him every morning to campus so we will see how that goes.

I'm working on my niece's baby sampler and as soon as I get my charger back, I'll post pictures of what i have! Little Reagan is doing better, we are hanging in there. Some sleep apnea problems going on and we need to be able to maintain our weight and our body temp, but other than that, she is breathing on her own. Go baby girl! Aunt Donna wants to hold you!

I get to see my baby sis tomorrow so I'm happy for that!

Here in Georgia, we had snow on Christmas! First time on Christmas since the 1800's! How awesome is that? I'd have took pictures but guess who left their camera battery and charger over their momma's house? Me! It was beautiful watching it fall last night! Warm by the fire with my family around me!

Wonderful Christmas Party!

Every year I host our annual Christmas party at my house for my family and I'm excited to say it is growing again! My brother Patrick asked his girlfriend to marry him and she said Yes! So it was exciting to have everyone over! (Poor Kelly was in a wreck on the way over! Can you believe that she was hit and run? At least they caught the lady who hit her! Some people just don't care!) I'm blessed to have Kelly in our family! Wedding, Wedding, Wedding! Wahoo for me! I'm already thinking of bridal stuff!

My great baby niece Reagan is doing good, still in the NICU and my niece Tiffany has got the blues so bad, please pray for her that her little princess gets to come home soon! I know it must have been hard leaving the hospital without a baby in her arms!

Speaking of babies, my baby Jason will turn 21 on Thursday! Gosh, where did the time go?

Are y'all ready for Christmas? I have 2 more presents to get tomorrow! Then I will be finished! I'm so behind in my stitching, so I'm looking forward to things calming down so I can get back to stitching! Gotta get Reagan's birth sampler finished, plus gotta work on Patrick and Kelly's wedding sampler.

Well it's late and I need to get in the bed! Busy day tomorrow!

Finally got my tree decorated! Plus a new baby!

Thank you to all my friends who wished me peace and love after my doggy Brutus had to be put to sleep. It's been very quiet here at our house, my kitties are doing their best to keep me occupied. Butters has been in my lap every time I sit down. Bless them for that. They know Brutus is gone.

I got my tree decorated and I still need to finish my mantel, but I need to get some material to finish it off. A big thanks goes out to Edgar for brightening up my day with some Christmas goodies! Johnny ate everyone of those cherries Edgar! I didn't even get a taste! He sure did enjoy them!

Anna, thank you for one of your cookies! It smells heavenly! Superb decorating skills my girl!

I'd like to introduce you all to my newest great niece Reagan Leigh Richey! She was born 12 weeks early by emergency c-section. I'm glad I was there for support for my niece Tiffany and Justin. It was quite scary, but the Lord watched over my girls and Momma is doing fine and baby Reagan is a fighter! She is 12 days old and weighs 3lbs now! Yea! I can't wait till I get to hold her!

I better get a move on her cross stitch! I figured I had plenty of time! hahahaha

Sad news......

It is so hard when it comes to having a pet put to sleep, but this afternoon when I got home from the gym, I knew it was Brutus's time. :(

18 years is a long time for a dog and I'm blessed to say that my boys were there for me during this hard time. He will no longer be hurting or having seizures or being unable to hold his bowels, I know that I probably should have had him put to sleep last year, but I couldn't. But today I let my baby rest in peace. I will miss you ruffy tuff!

My heart is sad and I'm unable to type anymore tonight!

Wow! What an awesome piece! And all for me! It even has my initial on it! So everyone knows it belongs to me! It is beautiful and I'm thrilled beyond words! She made it at a Blackbirds Design workshop! To be able to meet them would be a dream come true for me! Plus the handmade card! I've got to find that and post that picture too!

Been so busy, joined a gym, exercising my booty off! I'm down to a size 12 or 14 depending on the cut! Thrilled with that, gonna try to get to size 10/12 next!

Down to 13 more days left in school! Yes! We need a break!

Well, gotta hit the hay! Since we are so short staffed at school, I'm having to go in and help with breakfast, so I'm kinda tired!

Sad news..........

I just found out today that one of my stitching girlfriends passed away the other day. She was only 57. It is heartbreaking news as Laurie was the sweetest woman that I've ever met. She was always smiling and never fussed or complained, I will miss her at our stitching luncheons and I'm asking all to pray for her husband. It's gonna be tough since they had just recently lost their son, and now he has lost his wife. Please keep Jeff in your prayers.

I worked at the shop today and since I hadn't been there in over a month due to my kidney surgery, I got to see all the new stuff that had gotten delivered! My goody bag was full tonight when I came home! Y'all call the shop if you need something and I'll get it out in the mail!

Ya'll are not gonna believe how much my insurance rate raised! $758.00 Just because of Jason wrecking my car! Hell, if I'd of known that, I'd of said I was driving and I swerved to miss the deer! Yikes! Jason of course now needs to go and get a job to help pay for car insurance if he wants to continue to drive our vehicles! I just think it's a major rip off!We haven't had a claim in over 7 years! Thanks alot Metlife! Snoopy needs to go bite their leg! lol
On to other news: on Halloween, we had to admit my Momma to the hospital. She has COPD and Diabetes, so we were kinda worried when she told us her chest was hurting, I feared congestive heart failure, as that does run in our family, they are not yet clear about why she is experiencing that. She says it feels like a concrete block is sitting on her chest. Then the sensation goes away, but comes back, not constant, but it makes me worry. So, I'm going back up to the hospital tomorrow to visit my mommy again. All prayers would be appreciated!
Plus John's Momma had a TIA last weekend! It has been a roller coaster ride over at our house!
Can't wait till things start to calm down!

Halloween! Car news!

Now on to exciting news! Many of you didn't know that Jason totalled my car last week, so we have been on the hunt for me a new one! I hate having to get a new car, I was 8 months left paying on the the Focus! Guess who gets to start over! Wahoo!

But, this is the car I'm looking for! A Dodge Avenger! Very sporty and we are going car shopping tomorrow.

I'll let all know what I decide on! There are just way too many cars to choose from :)

Crawling out from under the covers..........

Since Oct.13, I have been in and out of the hospital, I've got a whopper of a kidney stone that decided to rear it's ugly head. I used a new group of doctors and let's just say I will not be returning to them. What a nightmare!

I'm at 3 surgeries right now, no stone has emerged and it's the 23rd already. :( I just had the stent removed and they managed to rip every part of my urethra. Of course I didn't feel anything until the numbing meds wore off and then the pain from hell attacked me. Johnny took me back to the ER to find out what was going on. Geez, all I want is to feel better. When I woke up from my 2nd. surgery, they had my IV in my neck! Geez! I know I'm a hard stick, but come on, my neck?!

Sorry that I don't have any decent pictures! I look horrible! The vain one!

I'm planning on trying to go back to school later this week, just hoping that I can pass the stone soon! Who ever invented kidney stones needs to be shot!

As soon as my exchange partner gets her Halloween ornament, I'll post pictures!

I'm missing visiting my blogging buddies! Hope to at least be awake more today!

No luck on the pinkeep yet.....

Terrie is gonna order the Blackbird Designs "Harvest pinkeep" so I'm excited to hopefully get it by next week! I stopped by the shop today to visit and met a new lady named Donna! We are just so popular! lol She also wanted the pinkeep too! She signed up for the Blackbird monthly program that I send out to customers!

I had a fun evening, even though John says I'm terribly expensive to keep up! lol I said I was worth every penny and hey, it's cheaper than divorce!

We went out to eat at El Jinete, then we went to the bowling alley and bowled a couple games, of which I lost! Plus we played some arcade games, had a few drinks and then I drove us home! I've got to find a couple who we can do things together with, make it more fun and exciting! I'm very competitive, and I'm a hand full I know! Everytime he missed, I was hooting and cheering! I know, I'm terrible aren't I! But, it was alot of fun and I can't wait to go again! Next time, we won't eat mexican, we can just eat appetizers at the bowling alley! John was so stuffed! I was smart and didn't eat too much!

I've been very busy, we have been short staffed plus our boss has been let go, so it's been a friggin nightmare at work! It needs to hurry up and get better, we all have just about worked ourselves sick!

I'm working on exchanges, so no pictures of stitchy goodness! I need to call the shop and see if the new Blackbird Designs reward of merit pattern is in! I want that one for sure!

I've good news.....I'm gonna be an aunt! My niece Tiffany is having a baby girl! I'm very excited about this news! Girl stuff is so much more cuter to buy for! The baby is due in Feb. 2011 so I gotta put on the cross stitch burn to get some presents made!

I hope most of you went over to Edgar's blog and wished him a happy birthday! I know I did! Plus I've got to get a little package sent to him! I'm terribly behind as usual!

I'll leave a picture of me instead! This is me after my evening exercise! I'm walking 1 hour a day now, I walk for the most part very fast, then I sprint the last leg of my route home! Whew! I used to jog when I was younger, but gosh I'm totally wiped out by my hour!

All I can say is FABULOUS!!!!!!!

I worked at The Stitch Store on Saturday, so I was able to get my stitchy goodness in! hahahaha

I've got some pictures of our Halloween area and our new mascot "Sybiliciousness!" Terrie took my picture of our girl scarecrow that Sybil bought for the shop! Love her! Call the shop if you need anything from the Fall Market! I can't wait till we start to get all the new patterns and cool stitchy gifts!

As to stitching, I'm working on my Halloween Exchange so I guess I can't really show that picture. But do enjoy the pictures from Saturday!

Tomorrow is my next IV treatment, so wish the nurse luck so she doesn't have to stick me more than 5 times! Yikes to that!

Gosh! Where does the days go???

Hello friends! Father Time does not stop for anyone! I can hardly believe it's been 3 weeks since my last post. Life seems to get in the way most days lately. I've been busy with school, family and The Stitch Store. I'm saddened to say that our Monday night stitch-ins are stopping due to the fact that poor Terrie has to work a second job. I hope that Terrie doesn't overdo and gets sick. I do know that it takes money to keep a shop going and it's very expensive for her. So please, if you need anything, just give the shop a call or email or visit the shop http://www.stitchstore.net/ for your cross stitch needs or desires.

We did have our Saturday luncheon at the shop and it was a fun filled Saturday with friends. Terrie had a training to attend too, so it was Kenneth and me! We did pretty good I think! Check the shop website for pictures of our Chinese exchange! I almost stole Diane's package for Terrie since it had a Starbucks gift card in it, but I was a sweetie and didn't! Sorry Terrie, but I hope you liked the giftie I chose for you!

I've been working on several projects, plus waiting on my new exchange partners' names for upcoming exchanges! Exchanges are so much fun! With Fall in the air, I must get a move on it to complete a bunch of presents!

Many of you all know that Jacob was unable to afford Berry, so we postponed until the Winter semester, well, it's that time again, so here we go again! We are applying to a couple new schools that he has expressed and interest in, so we will be visiting schools again! This time it will have to be a state school so that the tuition will be covered by the Hope Scholarship. Cross our fingers friends! January will be here before I'm ready!

I'm hoping that we are able to go to the fair this weekend! I love going and walking around smelling the foods and seeing the farm critters and crafts exhibit. I'm off this weekend so I've got my fingers crossed that we can go!

I've been working on Olga at home on my needlework system. Plus stitching on Eat Locally from Lizzie Kate! Our cafeteria is participating in a new program called Farm to School! It's about providing fresh produce direct to our schools from local farmers! August has been Watermelons, September is Bell Peppers. I want this sitting on my desk, I know it will look cute.

Work has been so busy and work is hard. We are short 2 workers and no new workers in sight. At least we are able to use the throw away trays, we are trying to look into a recycle program, but with costs involved, I'm sure with our cut backs, we might not get the funds to do the program. Oh how I wish the economy would snap back. Things would get so much better!

Annie Get Your Gun!

Wahoo! Look at my new gun! I like to skeet shoot and Johnny bought me a new shotgun made to fit me! I'm the proud owner of a Mossberg 510 Mini Super Bantam 20 gauge shotgun. I will need to learn how to hold it right handed though. Shooting left handed has probably caused me not to hit as many targets as I'd like.

I did stitch a little last night! Thank goodness for that! My Olga cat is coming along nicely, I'll post a picture tomorrow.

Well, it's late once again and 7am comes awfully early for me! hahaha

Back to School Exhaustion!

I just had to borrow this clip art from my sisters' blog. It sums up how I feel today! I am so tired! My dogs are barking very loudly tonight! I am not even gonna go to stitch night. I will be resting on the couch for the evening! I have more hours right now since we are short 2 workers in my cafeteria. So I might be working for a while with longer hours. I just hope I can keep up!

I haven't stitched in 4 days! Yikes to that thought! I need to get back to stitching everyday again. I've got very ambitious Christmas presents in mind.

Jacob is away on his adventure, he has called me once so far. He is suppose to call me tonight. I've got alot of info for him from the college. He's gonna be slammed when he gets home! He comes home on the 16th, money due on the 17th, move in on the 18th, plus sometime in there is Bear Essentials that he has to do! what this means for me is that I will be rushed trying to get him moved into his dorm in less then 2 days! Ugh!!!!!

Well, I'm so tired I can't keep my eyes open! I'm signing off for the night!

Stitch Night and more.....

Monday night was stitch-in, and as usual, fun was had by all! Look at Margaret's kitty calendar monthly! Love it!

School is upon us once again, I've been busy getting these 3 bulletin boards made, our theme this year is Cat in the Hat/Dr. Seuss. I'm so excited to have a fun theme to work with this year!

Jacob is getting ready to leave for a cross country road trip with 6 other friends! Yikes! Lord, please watch over these young men as they sow their wild oats! Boys, please DO NOT DO ANYTHING STUPID! If I get a phone call from the cops, Jacob you are grounded for life!!!!!

Must breathe! I'm so strung out with worry over this trip. I know he's 18, but you have to remember the rocks/train incident, I'm having a hard time with me thinking they will get into trouble again! Send me good vibes friends! I sure need them! He will be gone for 10 days!

I start Remicade on Aug. 17th! I'm excited to be starting this new med finally. My hands and feet hurt so bad! Always so stiff. :(

Well, Jacob needs to go pick up supplies for his trip, so we are off to Wally world!

Olga update....

I've restarted Olga, stitching her over 2, and she is shaping up pretty quickly! Yea!

Plus I bought my cat Butters and Daisy this funky s-shaped toy that they can play with. You rub cat nip in the sisal part, they both like it very much. Now with me going back to school, the cats are lonely and I thought this would be a fun thing to play with while I'm gone.

We have been getting the kitchen set back up! Whew! It is so hot and we haven't even cooked anything yet. Our school kinda flunked on our energy usage last year, so they have turned up all the thermostats in the school. It is gonna be terrible till the cooler weather gets here in November.

I'm working today at home on the nutrition bulletin boards that have to be up by Wednesday of next week. I've got 2 that I'm doing and the new asst. manager is going to do the outside welcome one for me. Our new a.m. seems nice, time will tell. We are short workers again this year. They asked if I could start work at 8am instead of 9:30am until they decide what they will do with Maryann(she needs surgery on her foot) so she's out on long term disability. I hope I can keep up!

Well, gotta get back to designing and cutting out my flowers for our boards! See ya!

Sweet "16" pics! These are the flip flops I made! I used Angela Yosten's pattern from her blog Moda Home Mom! I love reading her blog, it's mostly quilting but every now and then she has awesome ideas! Loved making these! So easy!

We had a great day at The Stitch Store! Next weekend is our monthly stitch in, looking forward to seeing our regular crew! And yes, I'll bring my stitching, I'll stitch along if I can, but customers do come first!

Happy Sweet 16 to my Katelyn!

I have been very busy getting fabric pinwheel wands made, making flip flops to match for each friend of Katelyn's. Cathy and I decorated their kitchen and transformed it into a magical spa night for the girls! So much fun, and as Cathy has most of the close up pictures of the cake and table, I'll have to post them another day. Enjoy the pictures I do have. I had so much fun tonight, but I am tired and I work at the shop tomorrow!

I have been trying to stitch Olga over one thread, :( I have decided to call it quits with what I've got and start over! Plus anyway I really dislike alphabets so I will only stitch The cat! Whew! I was feeling very discouraged with how slowly it was stitching, plus my poor eyes just can't see that tiny stuff anymore!

So, I'm cut gonna cut that portion off when I'm finished! :) So hopefully I'll be able to show some progress later this week!

I have been very busy preparing for my niece's Sweet 16 birthday party! I am hosting her Fairytale Girl's Night Spa Treat! I will definitely take pictures, but I can't reveal too much because I know Katelyn reads my blog! All I can say is it's gonna be AWESOME! Just think, I get to do this again in 6 years for Maddie! Yeehaw! All this girl stuff is heavenly!

My summer is just about over :(

I've heard thru the grapevine that this year is gonna be horrible! I can't take much more of this stupid turmoil at my school! I have been putting in applications elsewhere, so I need to make more money to help pay for college. Plus I've got to jump start Jason(my oldest who will be 21) into trying to go to tech school.

Well, I'm off to start Amish Fried Chicken for Sunday dinner!

Feet relief at last!

My heels are doing better, thank goodness. John went out and bought me a ped egg and some Heel Crack cream, and it has helped. Plus using the cream and wearing socks to bed has helped too!

We are on the down hill to back to school! Wahhhhhhhh!!!!!! I go back July 27th :(

It doesn't seem possible but yet here I am dreading going back! I was really hoping for a pain relief summer with my RA/PsA but Simponi is not working, I swear it has made my psoriasis worse if that's possible. I got back on the 23rd of this month, so it looks like a med change is in order.

I have started Olga from Plum Street Sampler! I'm so excited to stitch that cat! I love her! I only have a couple of stitches in her, I'm stitching her over 1, so it's slow going! lol I'm also working on Merry Stitcher from LHN, just love her stuff too! I hate that blogger has turned her picture sideways! It was correct when I clicked on the picture to load.

Poor little feet!

I have been trying my best to stay off my feet, Why you ask? I have cracked heels on both of my feet. All I know is Tuesday morning my feet were hurting like I'd cut myself, lo and behold, they were split open in numerous spots. Good grief, I've never had that happen before, so Johnny's been bandaging up my tootsies to keep them from getting infected. Such a sweet hubby! Has anyone else experienced this also? How long will it take for the cracks to heal. One really bad one was bleeding, that one hurts like heck! Crazy huh!

I'm working on a LHN project for a family member, I know she will love it!

As to Jacob's college woes, we are now just waiting to see if he can get accepted at GGC and then hopefully transfer to GCSU. I'm crossing my fingers. A friend named Lee sure gave this poor ole Momma some hope! Thanks Lee!

This weekend is Stitch-In at the shop! I can't wait, it's my Saturday to work!

Hoping everyone has a great holiday and be safe with the fireworks. I always have a 4th of July party and we are doing ribs on the grill with tons of sides! I miss you Judy! Sorry that y'all couldn't be here this year!

I've got my mantel decorated with all my holiday goodies! I'm really happy with how my tall Uncle Sam pillow came out! One lucky family member will win it today to take home for them to decorate next year.

On the college front, no change yet, we are trying to get into some State Colleges since our Hope Lottery program will pay for all the tuition. Keep your fingers crossed, alot of the colleges that accepted him before he chose Berry are already full. We've got about 3 or 4 hopefuls. Ga Southern looks promising. I'm hoping with every scrap of hope I can come up with that we can squeeze him somewhere for the fall.

A big thanks to Lee who emailed me, that was very sweet to help lift my spirits. I know I sure need them.

Pictures of Berry and depressing news!

Berry was so beautiful and everything was so perfect...............until it was our turn in the financial aid office. There is a deficit of $10,000 of which we will have to pay for per year times 4 years. When Jacob got his schlorship letter, to us it looked like he was getting $18,000 per year, well he is but the school is almost 29,000 per year. I am devastated because we can't qualify for more than $6700 in loans, so I've been in such a state of despair. I feel liked I've failed and let my son down. Where is the college fairy when you need her? Berry is a private school so of course it costs more.

I'm not giving up yet, but I know I don't want to put us in such a tight space that we could lose if work falls thru. John was laid off for 6 months last year, plus knowing that he needs shoulder surgery for a torn rotator cuff I just feel helpless.

I'm hoping that we will be able to find a state school that will squeeze him in for fall. He's smart, Honor graduate and made 1940 something on his SAT, but I fear it's too late to get him in somewhere for fall. I know Berry had already given him his fall schedule. If he can get in a state school then money won't be an issue, Hope program will pay for tuition. Please pray for us that we can get Jacob enrolled somewhere. I'm know my son is shutting down all his feelings right now, I know that I've cried enough for both of us. Sigh..................I promised him I wouldn't cry anymore but I can't seem to stop my tears.

I don't mean to depress everyone, but being able to talk it out does help. Smile :)

My brother dropped by the cross stitch shop yesterday with Kelly and little Terrie to wish me a happy birthday, they brought me cupcakes, balloons and presents! I'm so blessed to have a wonderful family! Thank you Kelly for the beautiful watch and earring set! I've worn them both today!

I will be off to Rome for the next couple of days. John, Jacob and I are heading to Berry College! It's SOAR for him and we are packing to get ready. He gets to sleep overnight at the campus while John and I have hotel reservations. Jason will be the man of the house, no parties young man!

I'm worried about how poor little Butters is gonna do while I'm gone. He's such a pitiful little cat, he doesn't let anyone but me touch him. I sure hope he isn't too traumatized by Tuesday night when we return.

Butters is very needy this morning, so in between me holding him and Daisy grooming him, I'm trying to post today's blogging goody. It's funny to see Daisy grooming him, he's so big compared to her. But, in Daisy's eyes I guess Butters is her baby. So sweet!

I got a treat yesterday, I've never had a pedicure before, so my sister Judy treated us to a girls day out for my birthday present. My birthday is not till tomorrow, but I don't mind early presents. lol Man, I have ugly toes, but I loved having my feet done! It will not be the last time!

My Poor Car is Struggling to Survive with 2 Teens!

My poor car is only 4 years old, but it looks older due to all the dings and dents and scratches that it has incurred with Jason and Jacob learning to drive. We've put Jacob on the fast track to get his license before he goes off to college. But, after today, maybe it will be better for all of GA if he waits to get his license. Yup, totally ripped off the passenger side door mirror. Scratched the hood and down the passenger front panel. Sigh...............:( This poor car is destined to be destroyed! I'd only had the car for 3 months when Jacob dented the front left panel. 2 separate incidents with rocks busting my windshield, Jason denting the under door on the passenger side, Jason hitting a curb and blowing the tire and messing up the wheel. I too have added my mark, though it wasn't really my fault, a lady from school was helping me back out of the crowded school parking lot, and she says, your in the clear, NOT! I backed into the fire hydrant, so that dent is mine, but that's the only one from me!
Plus having boy drivers on the policy is just about killing us, $$$$$$! I have not turned in anything because I have been fearful of our rates going thru the roof! Or being cancelled on! Plus we still have 1 more year to pay on it! Hang in there car! We really need you!
Lord, please watch over my boys when they borrow my car and watch over all the other drivers that pass them on the road! Amen!

My Jar of Stitchy Goodness!

I met a new friend on Saturday at The Stitch Store, and while we were talking about our love of Blackbird Designs, I told her how I like to store my pinkeeps and stockings. I do not have a little tree yet to display my stitched goodies, I use this big jar I purchased from Wal-Mart. It helps keep the dust off of them and I don't have to worry about a kitty tasting my treasures! lol

Well, concerning the fleas, I only found 7 so far since we bombed the cats and the house! That is still alot in my mind, but they were slow moving, so maybe the stuff is working.

I'm having a wonderful day and I'm hoping you are too!

I think I've won....

We are in a battle against the hated flea! They are driving my pets crazy. I triple whammied them yesterday. Capstar first, then Program tablet, then Liberty 50(new topical flea treatment since Frontline and Advantage are not doing the job!) We sprayed the yard plus the carpets in the bedrooms. Plus we bathed all 4 critters. That was a job in itself! This morning the animals seemed quiet, no digging or scratching, so I hope we got control over them. Having hardwood floors has probably helped keep them down, I just hope this stuff lasts longer than a week. I spent over $130 to prep the house and animals. Whew! Crossing my fingers!

It's my Saturday to work at the shop, hope you can stop by to see me!

I tell you what, I so love those Belle Soie threads. MMmmmm, silk threads! Stitches like butter, so soft and glides thru my linen. I've been stitching on this piece, plus a special design that I have designed myself. I'm hoping that it will be for this upcoming Camp I Wanna Stitch. Cross your fingers friends! Stitching is finished, now tomorrow will be spent putting everything together!

We are gearing up for SOAR at the end of the month. John, Jacob and I will travel up to Rome to visit the college and Jacob will get registered. He gets to sleep on campus while we will get a hotel room for the night. 1 mini vacation! lol

Last night was a Mary Kay spa type night. I got a mini neck massage, had my eyebrows threaded. (I was surprised that it didn't really hurt, just felt funny!) It was fun and I got to see the newest upcoming colors for summer. I love the new green eye shadow!

Well, here we are again, after midnight once again! I've got to get out of this habit, but it's so nice getting to sleep in everyday and pretty much doing what I want for a change! YES!

New Starts

I picked up Hares Christmas and all the goodys to start on this project. I'm wanting to have this finished in time for Christmas. Plus I've got all the stuff to start Merry Skater! Ah, Christmas is in the air.

Who has seen the newest preview of JCS? I like the LHN and CCN designs. I can't wait till the Halloween issue. I love Halloween stuff too. Having the summer off will give me time to stitch, for which I'm grateful. I haven't been able to stitch much since all of the graduation hoopla. Thankfully graduation is over and I can get back to normal again!

We are gonna grill out steaks tonight! So I'm heading into the kitchen to start homemade mac & cheese!

Well friends, I made it, but the emotions have taken a toll on me. I kept my tears at bay, but sitting here in the quiet house with no kids here, I can finally cry without saying "I'm sorry, I can't help it". Graduation day has come and gone and our party was spectacular! I've always known Jacob was popular, but I was quite surprised at how many showed up, at one time we had over 50 in our house. Thank you all for making this day so special for Jacob! My heart felt so full I thought it would burst with pride.

Tomorrow is Jacob's last time marching with the band. They are marching in the memorial day parade in Dacula! I love our small town! (Well, it isn't as small as it used to be!) I'm finally gonna get to see him march by like a normal parent! I'm looking forward to cotton candy! Hoping for no rain too!

I'm gonna watch Operation Petticoat tonight and stitch! I just love that movie! I'm gonna try and put up my slideshow that I made for Jacob on the blog, so hopefully look for it tomorrow!

Well, I'm gonna go have a pina colada and chill out with the hubs! He's so glad to have me back!

Schools out! Hooray for summer vacation. Jacob has graduation practice this morning, graduate tomorrow and then how am I gonna fit 50+plus people in my house? lol I'm sitting here waiting on him to get finished, we've got to go to the mall for a new dress shirt for him to wear. Plus he wants to go job hunting too today. Geez! We've got to get the house cleaned, grass cut and I've got to start making sausage balls. Whew, I'm tired just thinking about it all.
Jason has promised to help me get the slide show put together. I've got all the pictures loaded, just need to crop and edit and add music. We are gonna have playing on the TV during the party.
I just got the new LHN ornament "Merry skater", Terrie at The Stitch Store cut my linen yesterday and I've got all the threads ready to start! Hey, who wants to join me in making this awesome ornament? Give the shop a call and let's get started!

Whew! Countdown to Graduation!

I am exhausted today! Late night yesterday with Jacob getting another honor cord, plus insanity at work ( thank goodness that we only have 8 more days), then help out getting our senior gift bags stuffed for our band kids, get home to find our neighbors need help moving, so load the truck and we are off to help them. Finally home, it's almost 9pm. I'm pooped! lol I'm vegging out in front of the computer.

Here is a picture of Jacob from the spring concert, he dressed up like the little old man from the movie "UP", he's with my Momma. It's really a great picture, I'm glad to have it for future memories. Tomorrow is our band banquet, I hope I don't cry too much. This afternoon while helping Ann and Betsy get the senior bags together, all three of us doing our best to stay upbeat.

Working on a couple of projects!

Tuesday night was stitch in and I was able to make it! Things are still going fast forward in my household. We have another induction ceremony for Jacob tomorrow night. So I'll be busy with that. I'm trying to hurry and speed stitch a couple of cute and quick little gifts for a couple of band moms that have been involved with me since the beginning in 6th grade! That's when Jacob started band. It's hard to believe it's almost over. Sigh..................
I've finished Jacob's locker template, I spent 3 hours scrap booking that template for Jacob. I hope he likes it!
I haven't heard yet if Meghan received my ornament yet. So I can't show you all what I stitched for her. I've already picked out the next ornie that I'm gonna start for the next round. I can't wait to give my niece her little pillow kit. I think she should be just fine as long as she has help with learning how to cross stitch.

Honors Night and Symphonic Recital Concert

I'm sure as ya'll are getting tired of Jacob, but too bad, I've got more pictures!

Last week was concert and Jacob got to do alittle skit for the night, the only ones who knew about were Jacob, myself and Harkness. The kids didn't even know. Jacob got up and left during one of the pieces of music to hurry to back of the stage where I was waiting, we stripped him out of his tux and got him into a gray old mans suit, I spray painted his hair white, a couple dozen balloons and my Momma's walker: A pretty good impression of the little man from "UP", his cue was when they started playing the music from UP, it was awesome! The whole theater cheered him on and gave him a standing ovation! What a night!

Last night was Honors Night, and Jacob received alot of honors, he will wear 4 cords around his neck and his Honor medal too, they made a mistake and forgot to call his name for making a 1800 plus on his SAT, they told him that he'd have that cord too, not to worry, yada yada, but I know he wanted to walk across the stage once again for recognition. But, all in all, he was pretty happy with himself! I was so proud!

Tonight is stitch night, so I'll be busy with that tonight. See ya later.

Alora is home and doing better! Yea! Thanks again for all of your prayers. I've been busy, busy, busy! Trying to get things finished is becoming harder than I remember. Still haven't found the perfect song yet. Hoping to find it by this weekend. I've got to get started on my slide show. The days are quickly rushing by, and I don't want to forget to do anything that is school related for Jacob. Once May it's here, it's gonna fly by! I'm so not ready :(

Despite that mean ole nose tube, look at our girl Alora! Such a sweet baby girl! She is getting better everyday. Thank you Lord! We are thankful for all prayers lifted up to God for Alora's sake. I'm glad for friends who care!

Yes, I'll probably be boohooing alot these next couple of weeks, so I'll try not to be too sentimental, but I know that will most likely not work. Trying to find the perfect song for Jacob's slide show is horrible! I haven't found the right one yet. Any suggestions? I've got quotes ready, haven't written my letter to him yet, I'm dreading that one. I remember last year writing Jason's, a weekend spent crying my heart out. See, here I go AGAIN! Can't help it friends, bear with me.

On the stitchy front, I started that beautiful cardinal in Blackbird designs Joyeux Noel book! I'm using the silks and they are heaven to stitch with! Plus, I need to get a couple more Wickeds done, something for Band Moms who I like! lol

Alora's doing better........

Thank you to all who prayed or stopped to say a thought to her care! She is slowly getting better, still in the hospital, but from what I've been told concerning her tube, the color change from brown to green and starting to be yellowish to clear somewhat is wonderful news. Now we need a poop to make things even better! lol So thanks from the bottom of my heart and my whole family! Prayers really do help!

It's getting close now friends, I'll probably be breaking down in tears nearly everyday now. I DO NOT LIKE ALL THIS EMOTIONAL TURMOIL ! How did my kids grow up so quickly? My baby will be graduating soon. May 28Th. Graduation party on the 29Th. College in the fall. I turned in my keys tonight at my final band booster board meeting. Being on the board these last 4 years have been so wonderful and fun filled. I am gonna miss this next year. There is no marching band at Berry or SCAD. (He hasn't quite decided which one yet)

I've got to pick out pictures for a slide show presentation for the year end banquet at school. My heart is already breaking, how am I going keep from crying my friends? I feel utterly desperate right this moment. I'm not ready to let go......................... Give me courage Lord, for I do not want to break down and sob and embarrass Jacob at the banquet. I do not think John will be attending, which is sad, but he doesn't like anything that relates to the band. But, at least I've had the joy of experiencing the best 4 years of watching my son and I become close, and I hope he remembers these times spent with his Momma. I've tried to give him everything that he has asked for, some of which I wished I'd been able to give him, but I've always given him my love and this poor momma will feel so empty when her baby leaves the coop.

Well friends, my tears have fogged up my glasses and I can't write anymore.

Update on Alora!

Praise God that we made it thru the night! The surgeons had to remove a section of dead intestines and that Alora's fever has dropped 3 degrees, which is hovering around 101 right now, but that is much better than before. We are in ICU, and will probably be there for at least a week baring no more complications. We are waiting on Aaryn to call us and let us know the current status of Alora.

It's hard with them being up in Pennsylvania and the rest of the family down in GA. Please continue the prayers because they are helping! Thank you so much friends! It gladens my heart to have people who've I've only conversed with thru my blog, to consider them close friends to reach out too in times of need and turmoil.

Friends, our little sunshine is fighting for her little life as we speak! She is in emergency surgery right now! Please send out prayers thru the blog world for Alora! Please pray for strength for Aaryn and Kyle as this new nightmare unfolds for them. Pray for healing hands thru the surgeons who try to repair our sweet baby girl! Pray God that you see the light that Alora has brought our family and that you let our little angel get better. Amen!

Thank you friends for always being there when I need you! It's funny how one child can be born without any cares whatsoever, and yet another child born with struggles. I know God has a plan for everyone, I just wished it was easy. I'm not saying that to be ugly, but so many hurts and griefs seem to follow us that it's hard not to be downtrodden. Pray that everyone out there continue to be well and are loved!

Stitch-In Last night!

Tuesday nights are therapy friends, if you don't have a local shop to stitch in, invite some friends over to your home! It's fun to stitch, laugh, eat chocolate or whatever floats your boat. I now love Tuesdays!

Is the pollen killing y'all? Allegra is helping me, thank goodness for small favors. I love the spring, but hate the pollen onslaught. When I went outside today, my car was yellow, and you could see the yellow haze floating around in the air. Yikes! It might rain tomorrow, I hope it does. I can't believe it's already Wednesday night! My spring break is on the downslide now. :(

It will be over before I know it! When we go back we will only have 33 days of school left. YES! Then summer break! Jacob's graduation! My birthday! Wahoo!

Spring Break Week!

Ah, spring break is here! I plan to sleep in everyday, cross stitch when I want to, and take naps if desired! Yes, that is how I plan to spend my spring break. Chores are done for the day and I'm just chillin with the computer.

It's Stitch-In tonight and I'm going. I'll have to fix dinner first for the boys, but it will be an easy recipe. Meatballs and noodles!

I heard that my Easter exchange partner did receive my package, so I can show y'all what I made for Gaby. I know she liked everything I sent!

Happy Birthday Jacob!

18 years ago, you arrived after 27 long hours! We were so excited to add a baby brother to our little family! You were very demanding, you knew right off that you were not gonna stay the little baby that your Momma was wanting. You crawled at 3 months, walked at 7 months and you were running by your 1st birthday! You'll favorite toy was Bat Man, you had so many of those toys and Legos! Now, mind you, you didn't want the Duplo blocks, you had to have the tiny ones, I took a chance and prayed that you wouldn't choke on a tiny Lego, you surprised all of us by putting the whole kit together by yourself! I knew then that you were gifted and you would be a bright shining star. I'm proud of you and yet I'm saddened that my turn is about to be over as you embark upon a new and wonderful and exciting world as a young man. Remember that your Momma will always do what it takes to make your dreams come true!

I love you my sweet little bunny!

Stitch-In Update and Pics!

I just love Tuesday nights! It's a chance for me to be around new friends and do something that I so love! To cross stitch! Our little group of friends is perfect, everyone is unique in their own way. I have a feeling that these ladies will help me when I am feeling down or when I'm struggling with letting go of a certain young man who's looking forward to college. Sniff, sniff....

I get to be in my element Saturday, it's my day to be at the shop! Yeehaw! Y'all would never know I'm from Loganville, GA, would y'all? I'll never forget when my music coach told me I had to drop the drawl if I ever wanted to sing professionally. Well, folks, it's hard to take the country out of the girl.

I am now on another round of antibiotics. (This will make 5 weeks of taking some kind of antibiotic.) Sigh.......... Another 10 days, then we will recheck my lungs. OK people, I've got a bone to pick! (Now, if you are a friend of mine, I'm sorry, just listen to the rant!)

1. If you are sick, please go to the doctor. Get meds to get better.

2. Don't just think it will get better.

3. Because, people like moi! Me, DaisyGirl, who has PsA/RA, she doesn't have an immune system that works, so she catches everything in the world!

4. Please!! Help me get better, don't sneeze or cough on me! Thank you!

OK, rant over. The doctor feels that I can't get better because I'm getting re-infected by people who are sick at my school. You know who you are! Plus every time I hug a child or hug or shake your hand at school, I pick up every germ out there. They are doing a culture on me to see if there is an underlining problem. I love these kids at my school, I would hate to have to leave my school due to my health. I'm glad that I'm well liked and lovable, but I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired! hahaha

Well, I have to fill out the FASA form tonight for Jacob! (College is so expensive!)

Busy Weekend and a death in the family.....

Had a very busy weekend plus John's Aunt Ruth passed away on Sunday. Tonight was the funeral home visitation and the funeral is tomorrow. They did such a wonderful job on Aunt Ruth, she looked so pretty and honestly, she just looked liked she was sleeping. (Which btw, is how she passed, peacefully sleeping)
I meant to blog the other day about posting my exchanges in the mail, so I'm hoping my partners get their goodies soon. I didn't get to go to stitch-in tonight, which makes me little sad, I look forward to Tuesday nights, now I'll have to wait till next week! :(

Prepare for Smoked BBQ Ribs Weekend!

Wahoo!!!!!
My family is coming over on Saturday for a cookout! Even if it rains! Having the smoker now means we can enjoy the grill whenever we want! I love the way John cooks our food! He makes the best smoked ribs in the world, even better than the BBQ place here in Dacula. Hmmm, hmmm, good! Lip smacking, tasty, spicy just right! I'm making homemade potato salad, baked beans and I'm gonna practice on a new dessert too.
I will post pictures this weekend. You will get to meet my bosom friend Kelly, she's my brother girlfriend. I'm hoping for a future SIL! Get busy Patrick! hahahaha
We are off from school this Friday. It's a teacher workday, so no school tomorrow! I'm looking forward to a three day weekend!

Happy Stitch night again! It felt great to be back after being sick for so long! Our little group continues to grow! It's great to meet other stitchers out in the world! I am starting to feel human again and I'm so glad! We have had a great day today, sunny and warm and just beautiful! Spring is just around the corner. We have an upcoming 3 day weekend and I plan to try to get my patterns in some sort of order. I do not have to work this weekend at the shop, so I'm hoping the weather will be great so we can grill out.

We are on the downhill spiral of getting closer to graduation for my youngest Jacob! It is coming closer and I'm getting sad that it's almost over for him. He has also applied to SCAD in Savannah, I'd love for him to be able to go there. Jacob is such an artist and I know he'd like to be in the illustrator or animator field, crossing our fingers there. It's such a shame that everyone of these schools require fees just to apply. Some are $25, some or $50 or even higher, it doesn't seem like alot, but when you apply to 5 to 10 colleges like they instruct you too, it can get very expensive, and that's just for application fees! Yikes! Just this month alone, I've spent close to $250 dollars just in fees, and its only March 9th! I need to win the lotto! hahaha

Can I get better?

I have Bacteria Pneumonia, this is totally crazy. So, I have another round of a different antibiotic to try plus refills on cough and Mucinex. The doctor feels that I have just gotten so worn down and that I need rest, but try telling the school that. I'm not sure if it is worth it friends. I love the kids, but I want not to be sick all the time too.

John is getting better from the flu, he is tired but feeling better. So far the boys have shown immunity so far. I've got my fingers crossed for them. The headache is horrible, I've had a headache now daily for 7 days.

I am thrilled with Honeysuckle Manor! Blackbird Designs has done it again, I cannot wait to show Terrie the pinball that I have made. It was very quick to stitch and fun to do.

I am tired, yet not sleepy, I think I will go lay down and watch a movie.

Great news about Jacob! He got accepted to Berry College!

Sorry friends that I've been absent, but the H1N1 flu caught up with the Bennett clan at our house. John and I both have been sick as dogs with the crap. I finally am back to work and at least functioning at 70%. hahaha Man, let me tell you, when it hits you, there is no doubt what is wrong. This past Saturday, I left the cross stitch shop about an hour and a half early due to kidney stone moving. I got home and John says, I think I'm running a fever, I check, yes, he was, so I dose him up with Advil and go take a bath. Well, within 3 hours, I was running a fever and felt so bad, I was crying. The headache was so bad, I felt like someone had hit me in the back of my head and my legs with a bat, yuck! At least the stone let up! ha!

So on Sunday, our oldest son Jason loaded us up in the car and drove us to Urgent Care and got loaded up with Tamiflu, Z-Packs, MucinexD, plus cough syrup. Sunday and Monday were blurs, I thought I was dying. John did not have it as bad as I had, he only had fever and aches, I also had a sinus and ear infection to go along with the flu. So he pretty much took care of me and himself on those days. Tuesday my fever broke, and Wednesday I went back to work since we are short handed in the cafe. What I wouldn't have given to be able to take the whole week off. I've got plenty of sick leave, but my boss asked for me to come in as soon as I could. The county just needs to hire us one more worker for our kitchen.

I'm putting my exchanges together in their packages tonight. I'm a few days late with mailing since I got the flu. Hoping my partners forgive my lateness.

Tuesday Night Stitch-In

Here we are, another Tuesday night spent stitching away with friends. As usual, I remembered the camera after Karen left again, so next week I need to make sure I get a snap of Karen stitching away on her stitchy piece. Small crowd tonight, we missed seeing our usuals, but we know the a job is a job, funeral home visits are not fun, yada, yada, so just know you were missed!

The shop has lots of cool new things from Market, so check out the website or call us and we can hook you up with new things to drool over.

No stone yet, so I'm guessing it's on hiatus, fine with me, I don't mind not having to deal with pain. I still have a cold, it just won't go away. We keep passing it back and forth to each other at work. Or I should say, it keeps coming back to me! With my PsA, I have no immune system anymore, so I catch everything. It's late, and I'm freezing to death, I'm gonna go try to warm myself up in the bed. I need Butters and Daisy to come help keep me warm!

Meet my nephew and niece!

Here we are, look how tall Tim is! He's my boy! I'll never forget when he was born, he was so little and quite a eater! He's grown into a fine young man, his leave is over and he's back on the plane to Washington. He just has gotten home from Kuwait safe and sound. It was great having them over for a cookout. I got lucky and had Tiffany and Justin join us for grilling out steaks. We enjoyed their company and was sad to see them go. I miss not having them next door to me anymore.

Tomorrow night is stitch-in and I'm looking forward to going and spending time with my stitching buddies. Plus, Terrie will tell me all about Market. I hope she got some neat stuff for the shop.

No stone yet, I'm alittle uncomfortable tonight, so I wish it'd hurry up and pass or lie low for a couple more months or years! hahaha

As too my never ending struggle with distress, I really must write a book. I'm sure people would read it and laugh! It's terrible feeling like you chose the wrong path, I need a fairy wand to wave and just jump between what I envisioned and what I have. Man, can you imagine the money I'd make if I could sell those magic fairy wands! I WANT ONE!!! It must be a middle age crisis that I'm going through. I never thought I'd have this worry in my life.

Well, I'm off to Farmville, I've got way too many cows that need milked! I have to say I enjoy the game, it makes me not worry so much about life. Shoot Doctor Phil! He doesn't know crap!

Lazy Day spent recouping.

I spent most of my day in the bed friends, sleeping and resting. Trying to get over my cold, plus having no luck with my stone. At least it's found a cozy spot and hopefully I'll get a break from the horrid pain of passing those suckers.
Watching the Olympics on TV today. Gotta love the speed skating. Haven't gotten to see any of the curling events, hope to catch that on tv tomorrow. I will be busy tomorrow, my nephew Tim is coming over for a cookout, so I've got to cleanup the house a bit, plus run to the store for afew groceries. Gotta bake that boy his favorite muffins, pecan pie muffins! Hmmmmmmmm, yummy!

Tomorrow is Friday!

I can't wait! I plan to be a lazy hound dog and stitch this weekend! I've got 2 exchanges to assemble and get in the mail. So I'll be busy with that. Plus my nephew Tim is home from Kuwait and we are cooking out on the grill for him. It will be nice to see him. He loves his Aunt Donna's pecan pie muffins! Which I will have plenty for him to munch on.
Market is this weekend and I know Terrie will be very busy looking and deciding what will be great for The Stitch Store! I'm hoping for totally cool things to see when she gets back!
I haven't passed my kidney stone yet, the darn thing just moved to a cozy spot and hopefully it can stay there for awhile without bothering me. Did you know it can take up to 2 years to make a stone? Plus it can takes months to pass? That's just crazy, but I have passed more than my share of stones. as of last count, I've passed a total of 32 stones. My KUB exam shows 3 stones, so I know sooner or later those little suckers will travel down. hahaha
Just think friends, in 3 and half months my baby will graduate from high school. I'm already sniffling just thinking of it! My older son Jason has asked Jolissa out on a date. Well, I just love that girl, she was one of my band kids from last year. I know they will enjoy themselves on their date. Maybe she can jump start Jason into wanting to get a job. He will need money to take her out. hahaha
We are watching the Olympics and cheering on the USA. I want to see the curling events. I think that John wants to see that too. As to us, I do feel alittle better. I think it is very easy to get into a dull, day to day routine and forget why you married this person. I do love him and we are getting to a point in our relationship that no longer is consumed by what the kids need or want, but with what we need or want. I'm hoping that John's work will hold out and he can stay working so that we can take a holiday together. We really need it. What women doesn't want to be wooed all over again? I know I do. I want some romance back in our life. (I know what y'all are thinking, don't we all?)

I want what I had before Band season started 4 years ago. So I'm holding on to hope that things will work out. Keep me in your thoughts.

Unusal Post for Me........

Hi my friends,
Today's post is very hard for me. How many of you are in a slump in your relationship? I hesitate to blog about it, but I am falling down a dark spiral of despair. 25 years and what do I have to show for it? I do have two wonderful young men as proof of a happy union. But, alas, fairy tales seem to fade. Is it my age? I'm only 43, and he is 47 and yet I am beaten down without hope. Some of my family will read this and worry, but is it fair for me to be depressed and unloved. I can't write much more, my tears are causing my eyeglasses to fog. :(
