Happy New's Year's Eve To Everyone!

Edited at 10:30pm: I am so upset at the moment, I figured, hey new year, new look, well, I screwed that up big time, somehow I lost all my widgets and info lists, can't find it, son can't find it either! So, I'm trying to remember all of my blogs that I regularly read. You know I cried for almost 15 minutes, Jacob finally was like, it's ok Mom, just do it again! So, my blog will be undergoing changes, I've changed it 3 times so far! Wish me luck!

One year ago tonight, I started my blog. I was encouraged by my boys to try something new and fun. Well, let me just say, I have loved every minute of blogging. I have met many new friends via the blogging community and world. I was so lonely for a cross stitch buddy, I was driving my own family crazy with show and tell, help me pick my next design. Needless to say, they were bored!

I don't think Becky remembers, but she was my very first reply. I am sorry to say that Becky will be away from the computer for awhile. I hope she returns! Her comment to me was wonderful and she got me started looking for groups to be involved in. I met Anna thru PS group and from there I have met tons of new friends, Vonna, Cheryl, Michelle, Marie, Edgar, Tanya, Lizzy, Leslye, Janice, Carol, Terry, oh my gosh, I can't even name them all.

I started my own round robin! Little House Needlework Rocks! Fair & Square is awesome, SBEBB was a dream come true to be in that group! Stitching Bloggers Birthday Group!

So to show my gratitude, I'm having a drawing. You must reply to this post only, I am gonna keep the drawing open till Jan.5th,2008. I will then draw 3 names and those lucky people will receive a stitched goody from me. I still have 2 pif's left to send out, so even if you are on my pif list, you can still put your name in the drawing! The designs will be Halloween related! I love Halloween, so drop by and sign up!

I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to read my blog, reply to me, whatever you did, a big thank you goes out to all my friends. Bless you all in 2008!

It's Friday!

Thursday was spent returning stuff that didn't fit Jacob. He is very picky about what he wears! Worse than a girl I think. The whole time at the mall he would look at something, too fruity, too ugly, no way! I just ended up putting money on a Macy's gift card for the boy.
Next we went to the Honey Baked Ham store. Our favorite splurge after Christmas. Tim arrived back over at my house for another visit.
I finished my Fair & Square #4 exchange! Off to the post office later! I'm thinking I will skip #5 so I can have plenty of time to stitch for my SBBC partner. Want to make sure I'm not crunched for time.
Poor John is working 12 hour days this week, he was so tired last night.
I'm gonna have a important blog on Dec.31st! So stay tuned!
Well, signing off for now. All the boys are still sleeping and it's 11am here, they must have stayed up all night!

More pictures!

Whew! The aftermath of Joy!

I hope everyone has had a joyous and spirit filled holiday! We have been blessed again this year. We all enjoyed presents and lots of food! I know I cooked for 3 days straight. Tonight we are having cabbage and sausage. Yummy! A favorite at my house.

I had so many pictures, it was hard to choose which to put on my blog. Enjoy the ones I picked. At least mine is a sideways view and not too frightening! haha.

Today was spent cross stitching and resting. Tomorrow will be spent venturing out to the mall area! Ugh! I'll most likely be picking my nephew up too, I think he will spending afew more days with us.

Have a wonderful day!

ps: Watch for a update on a giveaway!

Happy Birthday to Jason!

18 years ago, I delivered my sweet baby boy Jason! Premature, but look at him now! Not so little now. Where did those years go? I am proud of you son for being such a caring son and even though you don't clean your room regularly, that's ok! I love you Jay buggy! Hope all your dreams come true!

Look at my nephew! Tim is home for leave for Christmas, I hope he doesn't get in trouble for me posting a picture of him, something about not having the beret on in the house. Please forgive me Army! I just got to show off my nephew.

I have been baking up a storm today. I'm making everyone in my family a goody can! I've decorated it up and filled it with treats. I made fudge, pumpkin bread, spicy oyster crackers, toffee popcorn, and that was just today's baking, tomorrow I will bake more!

I'm hoping everyone will have the best holiday ever. I am blessed to have family and friends worldwide that care about me! Thank you to all!

Merry Christmas to All!

What a Wonderful Holiday Party and Birthday for my Moma!

We had such a great time yesterday! 21 people! All family and friends! Got to meet Beverly, such a nice lady, you should see the earrings she made all the female members of the family! Hey, that's the easiest way to win our hearts. Jewelry!

My sister Judy is squealing with joy over the little crackers that she loves! And! My sister Judy gave me the pattern that I've wanted! VOHHR! Plus the linen to start! Thank you Judy!!!!!!

That's Abby with my Jacob! That's Bev with her son and Patrick, almost cut him out of the picture! Momma opening up birthday presents! Happy Day Momma!

I want to thank all my family who came and spent the day and evening with me! I am surrounded by your love and wouldn't want it any other way!

To answer who the designer was for my SBEBB ornie was, The Need'l Love Company Christmas Stocking Stuffers! So much fun to stitch! And no, putting the little stocking together wasn't hard, I used the sewing machine to sew the stocking together then hand sewed the lining and the stocking parts together. Easy!

Can't show what I'm stitching for Frosty Friends!

Have a great week everyone!

Thank you to Edgar for all my goodies you sent me! Love the mug! Candy is gone, thanks to my stomach and my boys! You are the best!

My SBEBB Christmas exchange partner received her goodies, so I can show ya'll what I stitched for Wendy. My son Jacob loved the train design. Hope she does too.

My hand is slowly trying to get better. Went yesterday and had another shot in my hand. My hand is hurting something fierce today. Wishing it would hurry and feel better.

We have our annual family Christmas party tomorrow. We are planning on having everyone over, I get to meet my brother's girlfriend. OOhhhhhhhhhhhh! I better behave! hahaha

Hoping everyone has a great weekend!

Wonderful Weekend!

Hi Everybody,

Hope everyone has had a decent work week. Mine was stressful, but at least it's the weekend. I've been stitching on a couple of projects, one sneak peek at one. A secret Santa mailed me some thread! Thank you Santa! Thank you Edgar for my card. I am so behind in that department! Mine will hopefully be mailed Monday.

I'm glad to hear Cheryl got my RR safety! It's always a worry when I mail. Haven't heard yet if my SBEBB partner has received her exchange. So hoping she gets it soon.

That stupid hand of mine, I thought it was better, I was wrong. It has frozen up twice this week. I have even slowed down my stitching, but in the morning time is the worst. The doctor wants me to wear a splint at night to help keep my hand straight instead of curling up in a fist. So we will wait and see how that does. You know the doctor told me the trigger finger thing was a fluke and wouldn't happen again, man, he sure flunked medical school. hahaha

I'm gonna try to finish my Christmas shopping today with my brother. We are going to the mall.

See ya later!

Time flies!

I can't believe it's Sunday already. I have been so busy. Work, Eagle work days, Christmas party and then on Sunday, the Bennett/Bomen Christmas dinner. I am so tired, We got home today at 3 pm and I went straight to bed, woke up at 5pm, now it's supper time for the boys.
Been working on a couple projects, as soon as I hear that my exchange partner receives her goody package, I'll post a picture!
Thank you to Edgar for hosting the 2008 SBBC! What a super guy he is!
I'll post more tomorrow, I'm still so tired, the bed is calling me, don't know if I'll be able to stay up to see the new show Tin Man on Scifi!
See ya later

RR shipped! Exchange sent!

Start watching the postman Cheryl, I've mailed the next rr. I've also got my SBEBB Christmas Ornament ready to go tomorrow. So hope my partner enjoys the goodies I have for her! I always take the finished item in to work so my friends at work can let me know if it is good or not.
Working on painting the kitchen cabinets, John put in a over the stove microwave, so we needed to change some of the cabinets. I'm so loving having the microwave off the counter place.
Gonna try to set up our Christmas tree later. We decided to buy a artificial tree this year. As soon as I have it decorated, I'll post a picture!
Thank you to my Secret Santa! I love the floss you sent! What a cool envelope you used!
My nephew Tim(the one in boot camp) has written to us again, he is not very happy right now. I wish I could go and get him, we will get to see him Dec.21st, he's gonna get to spend Christmas with the family! Yeah for that!
Well, gonna read the put the tree together manual. Wish me luck!

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!

Well, hope all has enjoyed family, food and fun! We had a good time at my sister's house. The only who couldn't be there was my brother Joey, whom was missed by all. He had to work. My nephew Tim has written to us. Boot camp is horrible he says. He wants to come home. He wrote that he goes to church now every Sunday to get away from the drill Sargent. We hope to see him at Christmas. As soon as he gets out of boot camp I can start sending him care packages. They told us not to send them during boot camp, he wouldn't get them, only thing allowed is letters.

I finished my RR, it will go in the mail on Monday. Have to assemble my SBEBB ornie this weekend. Wish me luck on that.

My hand is better, they called it Trigger Finger. A shot in the tendon to relax it, I can now move my fingers around. Can't totally close my fist tight yet, but I'm working on it. That shot hurt. That's all I'm gonna say. So weird it happening though.

Hope everyone has a safe weekend! Wear your seat belt!

ps: That's the big cat Boo Boo Kitty! He is huge!

Fixed picture!

Pictures and A Big BooBoo!

I received my PS ornie exchange from Rosalie! What a great job she did on her ornie for me! She sent me some material and a little candle too! Thank you Rosalie!

The ornie with the pear is what made for her, I sent along a pattern, and a bird for her tree too.

Now, on to bad news. My hands have been hurting me quite badly lately, Friday night I couldn't even bend my fingers on my left hand. I broke down and went to the ER, I have tenosynovitis in my hand, I've never heard of this, they have splinted my two fingers together. I have to see a hand surgeon this week to see if I need surgery, the tendon in my middle finger is stuck, it's like it's snapped into place and won't relax. Let me just say this has happened at the most worst time ever for me. I haven't even tried to cross stitch yet, what is my boss gonna say? Good grief for me. Plus it has made my whole hand ache. Wish me luck at work this week. I know we only have two days, so that's a plus right there.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving day Feast!

ps: I know my picture looks horrible, but I felt duty bound to show off my boo-boo, plus pain meds always make me loopy!

PS Ornament/RR Update

Mailed my ornament out to Rosalie, plus sent along a little extra goody for her. I'll post pictures this afternoon when I get home from work. My RR is almost finished, top of the roof and then I'm done! My goal is to have it finished and in the mail to Cheryl this weekend.
Work seems to be bearable at the moment. Our school has been redistricted and we will lose 600 kids next year, so I may be at a new school after all. Don't know yet.
What are everyone's plans for turkey day? I'm gonna celebrate it with my family at my sister's house! I'm making cornbread dressing with egg gravy, pumpkin bread, pies(assorted) sweet tea and anything else my family would like me to make. Judy's doing the turkey and other stuff that goes with it.
It's early release day so that's why I'm up early, I have to go in an hour earlier, we do get to leave an hour early so that's ok. Well, it's 6:30am, need to get ready to go!
Have a great day everyone!

Tuckered Out!

Well, our team lost the playoff game, 19 -16 in an overtime moment. The Falcons put up a fight, just couldn't make anything happen at the end. SO, that means no more Friday night games! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!
I am so tired! After we got back to the school we had our annual Rock A Thon, I made it to 3:45am, had to crash. I am not as young as I'd like to believe. No takers on cross stitch, the girls just wanted to do make up. Boys, guitar hero and Scene It game, which was fun by the way. Our group won. I'll post pictures later tonight on my progress with RR.
I'm gonna go do a little Christmas shopping I think, try to get hubby to go with me.

See ya later!

Update on RR Pic

Thanks to all well wishers concerning my job. Here's hoping that she will be gone next year. I heard a little bug tell me that she will not be here next year. Be still my beating heart! Hoping the bug is true. I'm just going in and trying to do my job and avoid her if possible. It's a shame when a government job overlooks the many for the one.

I'm working on Lizzy's RR, plus I started a small cross stitch that my sister Judy is doing. I'm gonna try to have it finished by the Thanksgiving break. I'll post more about that one tomorrow.

We play Cedar Shoals HS this Friday, this is a playoff game, after which we (the band members) will get to spend the night in the Commons Area for our annual Rock A Thon! I'm gonna try to stay up all night, I made it to 4:30am last year. I've got to at least make it to that time! The kids use this as one of their big fundraisers, they send out a donation letter to friends and family asking for a donation for the band. The kids get to play Guitar Hero, Twister and eat all the junk stuff that they want. Fun for all! Really! I karoked last year.

I'm gonna take my cross stitch with me. Maybe get some of these teen girls into cross stitching! I'm gonna take a couple of little kits with me in case I get a few takers!

Looking forward to the weekend!

What a day!

We had such a big turn out last night on Halloween! I'm being serious about running out of candy! I had bought 8 bags of good candy too, we thought for sure we'd have left over candy! Not! I ended up giving out Little Debbie snack cakes, my 100 calories pack Lorna Doone's, I love those. Next year I guess I need to buy more candy!

I'm working away on my RR for Lizzy! I hope to work on it again tonight during Survivor.

My nephew Tim is now a Army soldier. He left for boot camp today. I'm gonna miss him. He lived next door to us, so he was close to us. I will post a picture of us all together at his party on Tuesday when my SIL emails them to us. Pray that he survives boot camp and they aren't mean to my buddy!

Cooking supper right now, dinner will be soon. We try to eat around 6pm everyday.

I hate my job! When it became not a team effort anymore, I know my boss doesn't read my blog, so I can vent! We have a new assistant manager-we want her gone!!!! I'm sorry, but I know how to cook freakin green beans Karen! This women hovers over you, picking out things you are doing wrong, this is some of the things she has said to me: Oh, your hair is slipping out from your hairnet, maybe you should cut your hair! ? Not! Those green beans look done, did you read the recipe? Am I stupid? Not! Oh, you need to test your thermometer! Duh! Everyday! I'm studying myself to be a assistant manager and I feel like she doesn't want me to take her job, I don't want her job! I want to transfer to my kids school. The sad part is, she does it to everyone of the ladies in our cafeteria. Poor Carol left in tears today. She has worked for 14 years doing this kind of work, she knows what to do! That Karen is gonna make people want to quit. 2 ladies and myself are seriously thinking about quitting! Pray for us that this lady wakes up and realizes what she is doing!

Sorry about venting!

Hugs for all who like me!

ps: Daisy was talking to me!

Working on RR for Lizzy!

I've gotten the border finished and have started on the inside of the square. Seems to be stitching up nicely. I've mailed Cheryl's F&S the other day, so hopefully she will get her squares soon! I'm working on my SBEBB Christmas ornie, so can't show that, my PS exchange is stitched, just need to put it together.

Halloween is just around the corner, I hope we get some trick or treaters this year. Most of the kids in the neighborhood are teenagers. So unsure how much candy to buy. I bought 8 bags last year. I've got 4 bags right now.

The weather has cooled off for now, we didn't really get any rain, we are still in a drought, the whole state has been also informed to use 10% to 15 % less water. We are not flushing the toilets as much, we are trying to save water and reuse shower water to water my potted plants on my porch. We need rain! Supposedly we only have like 80 days of water left, Lake Lanier/Chattahoochee is our main water source, so don't know what will happen. The boys are like, I'll save a shower for tomorrow-teen boys are kinda smelly! haha

Till later!

Tanya tagged me.......

So I have to tell 7 things about myself:
1. I like to drink my Coke flat! (my husband can't stand this!)
2. I'm so picky about borrowing out my books, I cannot stand the pages to be creased or spine broken. I can read a book and the book looks new.
3. I hate bugs. I gladly pay a bug man!
4. I placed third in a college voice meet! I sang Memories.
5. I also used to sing in a country band called The Bitter Creek Country Band when I was 18. Momma wouldn't let me go to Nashville with the band.
6. I am a Queen in a past life! All bow to me! hahaha
7. I hate being alone!

Well, that's 7 small details about me! Who to tag? If you are reading my blog then you are tagged! I'll drop a reminder to the following! Anna, Cheryl, (by the way, thanks for the smile award Cheryl!) Marie, Vonna(I know you get tagged all the time), Michelle, Edgar and Lizzy! Please feel free to play along, don't stress if you forget to play!

Cheryl, start watching the postman! Wahoo! It's on it's way to you!
Just think Christmas is only 8 weeks away! I have been listening to Christmas music since end of September! It helps put me in a good mood for work. Here lately, I've needed it! They aren't gonna hire another worker, we are just gonna work ourselves to death! I'm so needing a break! Hurry up Thanksgiving break!

Have a great day!

Edited to add pictures!

Blogger is being stinky! I'll try to post pictures later!

Happy Birthday to My Sister Judy!

I want to wish my baby sister a wonderful birthday! I got to spend Saturday with her, we had so much fun! We went out to eat, went to Abecedarius, her local LNS, flea market fun and more! I'm so happy to have her joining me in the love of cross stitching! Yeah Judy! Check out my stash that I picked up today! So excited about all the new stuff! Check out my Halloween Man, he's made of a heavy tin metal! He is so vintage! I love him!
Cheryl, I plan to mail your squares on Monday! My sister loves it!
My brother finally had his stent removed from his kidney, I know he is feeling so much better! It took 3 surgeries to remove the biggest stone I've ever seen! Monster stone! My stones are babies compared to his! Glad he's feeling better! The family's coming over tomorrow for a cookout, we are gonna smoke some chickens again, they didn't get to come last time we smoked some chickens.
Congrats to Judy also for passing her exam, she is once again qualified to teach school again! She can teach now if she wants.
Well, sorry I haven't posted all week, I've been busy with school and the band, football season is winding down! Thank goodness!
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Thanks Cheryl for the award!

Lots to post!

Update on my square, I stayed up late last night working on Cheryl's square. It's coming together, gonna stitch again tomorrow! Hope to finish this week.

My kitty Boo Boo captured a tiny chipmunk yesterday, we tried to save it from the cat, it managed to hide in the wood pile on the back porch, but unfortunately the little critter passed away today, we buried him out in the yard. I'm such a tender heart when it comes to animals. I really had hoped that the little thing would have made it. It's in heaven now.

I've decorated for Halloween, that's my mantel with all the pretties up. My Marie Osmond doll that my Momma gave me, I love it, I made the little pumpkin light covers, the B O O, I love to decorate for the holidays.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend! I'm off tomorrow! No school! Yeah!

Saturday, October 13, 2007

Quick post for now!

We lost our football game last night, 42-6, what a beating. But, the band had their best performance ever! No one dropped their flags or was out of step! Perfect! Jacob I think is thinking about trying out for the pit for the winter program competition, you'd think he'd be tired. I know I am. We will be performing the music from Spamalot! We saw the play on Broadway in New York earlier this year. I'm excited about the costumes, I'll be making a bunch again. As my husband says, just shoot her, she can't say no! Hey, what am I on this earth for? My children! If they need or want it, I find a way!

The quilt shops having a sale today, gonna stop by to check out the material!

I finished my PS ornie, need to assemble it, working like mad on Cheryl's, why, oh why did I use the gold linen? This linen has gold flecks in it! It's beautiful, but hard to see the holes.

Well, off to the store!

This is what I stitched for Valerie!

I checked the SBEBB and Valerie received my package, so I can now show you all what I did for her. I stitched a Just Nan design-CrowJackers, turned it into a treat bag and stuffed it with candy, a Just Nan Whimzie, I also made her a Halloween ghost pin and sent along a cute fat quarter of spooky material! She liked what I did for her! Yeah! I was so worried. I even emailed Vonna about whether it looked good enough! Silly me.

Jacob took the picture of me and my kitty while I was recovering and resting. Hair is very straight in that picture!

As soon as my camera recharges itself I'll also post a picture of my PS ornie, I'm very excited to be just about done, working away on Cheryl's F&S, I am such a slacker, I have yet to start on Lizzy's RR. I was hoping to finish my 2 ornies this week so I could start this weekend on the RR.

Well, gotta go pick Jacob up at the library and go to Subway for dinner. I'm not cooking! John's working late tonight so I'm gonna make it a easy night! Yahoo!

Have a great evening everyone!
