Happy New Years!

As I sit and pray while my two teenage boys are out and about on this New Year's Eve, I wish for everyone happiness, friendships to blossom, and love to overflow in your hearts!
We all live very busy lives and I hope to slow down and enjoy my family more in 2009. I have been blessed to meet many new friends thru the world of blogging and I thank each one who has taken the time to read or comment on my blog.

I was gonna stitch, but after two mimosa's, I'm very sleepy! I never was a good party girl!
Both my boys are spending their first New Years away from home and Momma is feeling alittle sad that they are growing up and branching out. I love you Jason and Jacob!
Happy New Years!

Blog undergoing changes!

I'm trying out new backgrounds, so don't fear, it's still me. I kinda like this one. I just wish I knew how to make them myself instead of using someone else's color combo!

I'm wanting a change from my usual pink. So bear with me while I experiment!

Yea!!!!!

Jackson, Bony, and Jason with his new necklace. The only person who didn't get in the pictures was me. I always forget and I'm so busy capturing everyone else's joy! It makes me very happy to see happy faces!

I'm very tired today, just gonna rest and order takeout for dinner tonight.

I need to hurry and finish my Halloween RR, it's due to travel on the 30th of this month! Gonna start tonight.

Reindeer Exchange!

Lot what I received from Simone! She stitched me a reindeer in a flat fold stand up! Awesome job Simone! She also sent me some goodies for my stash! Thank you Simone!

I have been a bad blogger! I haven't blogged in over a week! Shame on me!

I have been busy, we had our winter concert with the symphonic band.It was last night. The group sounded wonderful. I would love for Jacob to be a professional musican in a orchestra, but I doubt that will happen. I can dream, can't I?

I've been busy stitching on Edgar's Quaker RR. It's coming along great. It's time to send on to Valerie. I have Rowyn's ready to ship.

I got Brutus groomed the other day, and with the weather turning colder, I needed to buy him a new little sweater. Look how cute his new jacket is... and he really loves wearing his snuggy's.

Well, I need to scoot, it's time to decorate the tree! I need to get my house ready. We are having our annual Christmas party this weekend!

My Reindeer exchange is ready to go in the mail tomorrow! I'm very excited about it! I sure hope my partner likes it! I can't wait to show everyone what I have made!

Can't believe tomorrow is Dec.1st!

Will post more tomorrow!

Pictures of what's been up!

We had a Rock A Thon on Friday night, that's where the kids get to spend the night at the school and have a blast. Jacob had fun, I managed to stay awake until 3am, after that I woke up at 6:30 to start cleaning up. Parents had to pick kids up by 7am. The girls enjoyed doing Jacob's hair.

Look what Kendra made for me! It is awesome Kendra! Right on with the uniform colors too! Jacob wants to take it to school to show it off! Thanks so much for this sweet gift!

I started on Edgar's Quaker RR, not much done, I need to send off Rowyn's to Valerie. I don't want to overwhelm her, as she already has 2 I think. We got off track when a stitcher bailed out on us and Valerie has agreed to take her spot.

Look at the cute little Christmas birds I'm working on! I'll try my best to have one of them assembled by the end of this week.

It's Monday and we are having our annual Thanksgiving dinners at the school starting tomorrow. We will serve Thanksgiving food for three days! Just today, I opened up 4 cases of cranberry sauce! Which means 24 long pans ready to serve!

Hope everyone has a great day!

I must show off my sparklies!

John knows that I love garnets and he bought my a new ring plus some new earrings from Jareds. It's a nice jewelry store out here. The ring was too big, so last night we dropped it off at the jewelry store while we went out to eat at Red Lobster. We were gonna go to Longhorns, but the wait was 75 minutes. I just could not wait that long to eat! I was hungry!

Today has been lazy. I visited my Momma while John and Jason unloaded firewood for my parents! I'm glad we are able to help provide them firewood, they won't have to buy any we hope.

I'm assembling Elizabeth's Harvest/Thanksgiving ornie tonight. I plan to mail it Monday! She sent me the cutest owl ornie. It's super sweet. John's Dad loved owls.

I have almost finished my Reindeer exchange! So no pictures of that one yet!

Christmas is coming quickly! My brother Patrick and my sister in law Cathy went Christmas shopping today! Hope for us to go next weekend or later.

Well, here's hoping everyone has a safe weekend!

Halloween Practice Band Pictures

We let the band members dress up in their costumes for practice. It is always fun to see what these kids come up with. Jacob re-created the bad guy from Batman. he made the mask from burlap, he cut and stitched it and then he coffee bean dyed it. He did a great job I think.

I know I don't post alot about Jason, but I will today. He is in Stagecraft at school and they are doing the play The Crucible. They had a competition last week with the play, but they didn't place. So everyone was bummed. Jason is part of the crew that built the set. We are gonna go and see the set this week. Jason is such a different personality then his brother, Jason is more subdued and quiet, I worry because he doesn't seem happy. But he is almost 19, he's becoming a man and not the little boy who needs his momma. How sad for me.

We voted! I'm hoping that McCain can pull a victory. Times have shown us that when a Democrat is in office, the construction field is weak, no jobs for John. But since the Republicans are in office, work has been strong for John. I'm hoping that John will still have a job in December.

I am hoping to have Rowyn's RR finished tonight! Then I will work on assembling my Thanksgiving exchange ornie! I plan to have it ready to go out in the mail by this weekend.

John and I will share our 21 wedding anniversary on Nov. 7th. Shhhhhh ! I'm hoping for jewelry!

I won't be too disappointed if I don't, but it has been more than 3 years since I've received any sparkly goodness! hahahaha

I'm feeling better, but my doctor thinks that maybe I am experiencing a RA/PsA flare. So I'm taking my meds, but still feel tired. I did talk openly to my boss about my condition and she was very helpful and concerned. Being the main cashier has helped. I'm hoping to become the head cashier when the other lady retires.

Well, I want to stitch so I'll leave you with a smile and a hug for all who waited in line to vote! I waited 2 hours and twenty minutes! Hope it was worth it!

Where has Donna been?

Well, best laid plans always backfire on me. I knew Halloween was gonna be busy, especially with an away football game, trick or treaters, the whole nine yards. I chaperone usually 27 kids on Bus 2, they are the best bunch of kids, so I spent some money and made up goody bags to give out after the football game. I even bought little skull rings and playdough. I had more fun putting these goody bags together. I couldn't wait to pass out the treat bags. I wanted to be super mom again. Guess what? OMGosh, I started feeling really bad on the bus ride to Berkmar, by the time we got to the school, lets just say, I thought I was gonna die.
I laid down on the bleachers, covered up with a blanket and tried not to throw up. I made it to halftime, then my friend Karen decided it was time for me to go home. I missed giving out my candy treat bags, I was bummed. Got home just in time to make it to the bathroom. That was 10:30pm Friday night. Went straight to bed, woke up Sunday morning at 7:30am. My husband has teased me for sleeping more than 30 hours. How do I feel? Alittle better, but I feel like a truck hit me. My body aches, but at least the stomach is better. Yea!!!!
I don't know what I got, but it hit me fast and hard. I just hope nobody else gets it!
No stitching to show. I will take pictures of Rowyn's RR later today. I can't believe it's November already. Christmas will be here before I know it!
Hoping everyone had a safe Halloween!

Stitching Time Again For Me!!!!!

edited at 5pm: I'm stitching and Johnny snaps a couple of pictures. Thought I'd show you I really did stitch today!

I've been busy this past week, finished up Hannah's Halloween RR, looks great! Started on Rowyn's Quaker RR, started a Stacy Nash freebie from last weekend's stitching party that Tanya hosted! Thanks to Tanya for doing that!

Have completed my Thanksgiving Ornie, but have not assembled it. I went to Abcedarius yesterday with my baby sis. It was her birthday last week and I took her out to Chili's for lunch. We had a wonderful time. Heartfelt talks, good food and a fun time was had yesterday. I borrowed her Crop A Dile to try making a floss key ring. Wish me success!

Planning on stitching today! So this will be short!

Wedding Pictures!

Yesterday my niece Tiffany got married to her sweetie Justin! It has taken us almost 2 years to get to this point! Whew! At least the wedding went off without a hitch. All and all I think the wedding was great. The bride and groom leave for Cancun today for their honeymoon.

Since the wedding is over now, I should hopefully get back to stitching. I don't really have any stitchy pics to show you, just wedding ones. Enjoy!

Dance Pictures and Update on Bony!

Well, to let everyone know how the appeal went, we lost. They said that knitting was a disturbance in the classroom, so Jacob still had to serve his in school suspension. It did not make me happy. I can tell you, that his one teacher lied during the meeting. He was one of the teachers that said Jacob's punishment was unfair. But, when it came time to own up to his statement in front of the principal, he became a coward. Jacob was in the meeting, and I think he was devastated to learn that his mentor, his favorite teacher, could lie and not stand up for what was right. It has been a hard lesson, but he doesn't trust this teacher anymore. I mean, come on, be a man and stand up for your students if you think they are being unfairly convicted. This teacher would not even look us in the face after the appeal meeting.

Plus, they have banned knitting at school because of this. So sad! But, my Jacob is a rebel, he has started a knitting group for teens online and after school if any want to learn at our house. I'm all for it! Plus, we have made a point to let everyone know the outcome of the meeting.

Now, on to Bony! He is doing so good! He has recovered so fast, it's amazing. He is such a love bug.

I also received my Quaker linens from Rowyn. I've got to get busy since I got two of them. I need to get Wendy's in the mail to Valerie. We have been so busy this week with preparations for Tiffany's wedding. I've got to hem Jason's dress pants and iron every ones dress shirts for the wedding.

Well, I'll leave everyone with a big smile and a grin!

DaisyGirl

ps:By the way, I need to make voodoo dolls of the mean teacher who gave Jacob the suspension! Hahaha! I'm so evil!!!!!!
pps: Jacob is such a camera hound! He models for every picture!
That is Kate, Jacob's friend he gave the wrist corsage too.

Look what I made! My first biscornu!

It was sent to Goldie! I just checked the SBEBB, and she left a message that she received it! Yea! I know she loves it. I do too! I almost didn't want to send it! But I did!

Poor Bony! I picked him up from the vet this morning. He had surgery yesterday to get neutered and declawed. The only cat that is not declawed is Boo boo Kitty, as he was too old to change his rambling ways when he adopted us.

Bony is quite under the weather right now. I've been carrying him around as much as I can today to give his paws a rest. Poor baby. I'll take pictures later when he gets up.

I've started on Hannah's Halloween rr. I finished Wendy's Quaker RR. That will be going in the mail this week to Valerie.

NOW I MUST VENT!

THIS IS TO A STUPID ADMINISTRATION! DACULA HIGH!

My son Jacob was given in school suspension for knitting! Yes, you heard me right. Knitting! I have had major support from 3 teachers who say I should fight this, and fight this I will! I think I would rather the teachers be willing to help put the bullies, the violent kids(yes, there are violent kids at our school) the trouble makers in suspension, but NO, they have chosen to make my son Jacob an example. But this Momma don't play this stupid little game! So first thing Monday, Jacob and I and his knitting supplies will be up at the school ready to appeal this suspension.

What makes this silly is that 4 band members already knit during breaks and bus trips. So of course this will put a damper on the kids that wanted me to teach them how to knit too. Jeez! I wish I could afford a private school!

What is this world coming too? They are gonna wish they hadn't messed with me! Jacob is an honor student, top 5% of his class, already has 3 college credits to his name, Allstate Honors Band, Boy Scout who is working on his Eagle Rank, and of course Symphonic Band and Marching Band. Helps build houses for Habitat for Humanity for goodness sake. I refuse to let this school system railroad him into having a permanent record that will follow him to college. This Momma is mad!

Alright Momma, calm down, breathe!

You would not think that this household sees this much drama! But, alas it does! Just think how it would be if there was a girl living here too. I wonder if other teens parents experience all the turmoil too? I don't remember it being like this when I was a teen? maybe it was, I only remember certain parts of the teen years!

At least they are gonna let Jacob go to Homecoming Dance. He will look very handsome, I'll take pictures later tonight of him dressed up snazzy.

Well, I'll give everyone a break from the ramble!

Look at my spooky goodys!

Michelle(Arthemise) was my SBEBB Halloween exchange partner, look at what she made for me. She cross stitched a Helga design and made me a basket lid! It looks wonderful! Her Momma made me some cute place mats which are being used as we speak! What a great exchange!

I mailed my package today to my secret Halloween Exchange partner. I sure hope she likes it! It is a first for me!

We had a competition meet on Saturday. What a day! We got Superior in Overall Band, Drumline, and Drum Major. We got an Excellent for our Colorguard. So getting that excellent bumped us from winning the big trophy. The band kids were alittle upset at the colorguard. Oh well, try again next year.

Look what I got!

Joan had my name for Ornament Halloween Exchange! I love it! I've got it hanging from my Mr. Bones! I have mailed my ornie to Joan, so hopefully she should get it in a day or two. I can't wait to show everyone what I stitched for her!

Halloween is one of my favorite holiday to decorate for. Check out my mantel! My Momma got me an early Christmas present, a new Marie Osmond doll for Halloween! I love her! She is a ghost this year! Perfect for my mantel.

Thank you Momma! I love you!

Edgar's MAW is going in the mail tomorrow! I know he will love it! Can't wait to show that picture! The SBEBB Halloween exchange will be in the mail later this week. Most likely on Friday. I've been very busy with exchanges. I just can't seem to say no to signing up for more exchanges. I've signed up for Reindeer games, Thanksgiving Ornie, haven't signed up for a Christmas one yet, but I know I will.

I've got to get busy and start supper!

Where have I been?

Life certainly doesn’t stop, does it?  I have missed my blog, yet I wasn’t such a great steward of it these past long years. I was sucked ...
