Where have I been?

Life certainly doesn’t stop, does it?

I have missed my blog, yet I wasn’t such a great steward of it these past long years. I was sucked in by Facebook but have decided that fb is simply not worth my time. So many distractions and attempts to trick you into thinking that everyone is your friend. But secretly destroying the very depths of your soul. The constant negativity and the endless attempts of hacking. Ugh! I have stepped back from fb and turned to Instagram. I post from Instagram mostly but even that has become ridiculous mostly due to the constant men professing their love. I swear, it’s a rat race. So I figured I would open up my blog and try again. I still have fb due to the fact that my family in Pennsylvania rely on that platform to keep abreast of the family.

Life hasn’t been kind, I endured the loss of both parents. My Momma in 2017 and my Daddy in 2022. My brother in law Jimmy last year 2023. My sweet pups Huckleberry and Wally are waiting at Rainbows Bridge for me. I am now disabled and quite unhappy about that. Spinal surgery was a disaster and titanium steel that was supposed to fix everything became a nightmare. Hardware malfunction and screws breaking are such a thing. I am not lucky 🍀, if it will break on me, it will. I am prone to disaster! lol

I do have a dachshund pup called Auggie Doggie now that has helped heal my heart. He is the sweetest little thing and honestly saved me from a mental breakdown. I am indebted to my husband who purchased him for me. I am looking forward to Johnny retiring in June and looking forward to having him home with me everyday. I know he is ready also.

I hope to rediscover old friendships and make new ones through blogging once again.

Hugs from my heart to yours!

Trying to get better......

I do miss my hair, but I dig the sassy red wig!
The Elmiron is pretty mean to the stomach, but I'd rather take that then to have to cath myself everyday. I fear that so I am doing this option first in hopes of success! Cross your fingers peeps!
Hugs from the Bearcub and me!

MyI can't believe that it has already been 10 weeks and my summer is over. I spent my summer doing bladder instillations via Cystoscopy for Interstatial Cystitis, I hope I spelled that right. My bladder wall has deteriorated away and I'm eat up with Hunners Ulcers. Ugh and more ugh!
My treatment meds caused hair loss so now I'm rocking this awesome red wig!
My kitties are totally chilling with me tonight!

New baby in the family=love

Welcome little Louie! Such a sweet baby! I'm so happy for my brother Patrick and Melanie. At 45 and 40, they are kinda shell shocked but happy!

He is perfect! And summer is just around the corner, so I'll get to visit a lot!

Another false alarm!

My poor brother and his fiancée are expecting any day now, and well, another false alarm! Lol but hey, I was out the door in under 10 minutes and on my way to the hospital when Patrick called me and said, don't bother! Hahaha! We are heading home now! No little Louie!
I had forgotten how nerve wracking it can be for the family too while we all wait for a new bundle of joy to appear!
Hugs my friends! Maybe next time I'll be a new Aunt!

Monday night bowling madness!

We are on a bowling league and we won last season as top team champs! This season isn't going as smoothly as I'd like! Lol

Thanks to Vonna on a little advice on even weave! I'm gonna try 25 count and hope my vision is a little better!
This is my baby brother Patrick! He bowls with me on my team! My hubby John bowls with us also, but he hates being in on my selfies!
I always try to sneak pics of him if possible!
Hugs from the DaisyGirl!

I've been a very naughty kitten as my boss calls me!

I can't believe I've been so lax and have totally forgotten my blog! I swear 2014 was such a heartache for me I had so many medical issues it wasn't even funny! Hamstring surgery again, eye surgery, my kidney stones just won't leave me alone, plus my poor Mother :( Numerous times in the hospital, heart attack for her, perforated bowel, poor lamb was so tired and in pain and it broke my heart to see her like that!
But,
2015 seems to be hopefully looking a little better! Finally getting my Lupus diagnosed has been hopefully getting on track with what's going on with me! Plus my brother Patrick is going to become a father for the first time at 46! Woot woot! Him and his fiancee were pretty shocked! They have been dating for over 2 years and were just happy as chicks in a hen house when wham bam, excuse me sir: The reason Melanie is throwing up is "She's Pregnant!" ( A side note that she already has a 22 year old son from a previous marriage and she has a grandson too!)
So we are 2 weeks from little Louie being born! And I can't wait till I get to hold a little baby again! My youngest niece is almost 13 so, its been quite a long while since we've had a baby in our household!
I've been knitting more, but I am gonna start a cross stitch piece this weekend! It's been hard with the Sjogren's and my vision, my eye surgery to remove the cataracts has made it hard to see up close. So I've got readers to try out! I've been reading everyone's blogs and I've missed my cross stitch time, so I'm gonna give it a go!
I'm still working at my school, I love the kids, just hate the hard labor that working in the kitchen demands of me. But I have a new boss Amy, whom I adore! And she makes things as easy for me as she can. Which I so appreciate! I need to stitch her a little thank you gift!
Johnny and I are already planning our summer vacay! Venice Beach Florida this year! I can't wait! We've already paid for the reservations, so I'm excited for June 6th to hurry up and get here! I wanna find a shark tooth! (Well, the man does more than me! So cross our fingers for success!)
I'm so sorry I have been away for so long! I'm excited to read and catch up with all my friends from the blogging world!

The day is long and useless. I sit on my couch and contemplate my life and what I want to do. How I wish I were wealthy or at least had the comfort of extra money to do or not to do if I desire. Why is life dependent upon money? You need money to buy food or else you will starve. Money to pay for everything. Some days it seems so hopeless and sad. I can’t even imagine the people who are truly poor and homeless. Would I being willing to give up things that I have become use too? Do I really need cable? Internet? My face cream and perfume that I adore? As I sit here shaking my head, I can say, it’d be very hard to give up my vices.

I look at my dogs laying on the couch and I am again reminded of the simple things that makes them happy. A wag of their tail, a sweet lick on the face, those small things make me happy. Unless Wally is destroying my knitting needles!

Hugs from my house to yours!

What a week!

A death, a heart attack, and I'm exhausted! Momma had a mild heart attack and Mrs. Corley passed away. So it's been a week of sorrow and fear.
Things need to look up, we are leaving for Florida on Sunday, so we really need a week of relaxing.
Working on a cowl for my future daughter in law, this is gorgeous yarn!
I'm trying to lose weight again, I'd love to lose another 20lbs, it's just so much work with having to workout for 2 hours! But once we get back from Saint Augustine , I shall be trying once again! Wish me luck! If I could get to 170, I'd be a happy camper!

It's 2:36 a.m. and I'm awake ............

Why am I awake this late again? Hmmm, seems that the yarn was screaming my name! I'm knitting items for my cousin Jessica, she is due at the end of June and I want her to have some pretties! I've already completed the burp towel, working on the baby booties now! Though my eyes are drooping, I had to get to a safe row to stop! Lol
More shall occur tomorrow! Jess will love these gifts!
Butters is enjoying the burp towel right now! I will wash and block it tomorrow! I love the pink plaid that this yarn reproduced! Very soft too!
Only 4 more school days left! Hooray for me! These last couple of days will be a challenge for the cafe staff, they are gonna put in air conditioning in our kitchen over the summer break, which is a good thing, but it's a nightmare cause we have to literally move all our equipment and pans and canned items to the other end of the school in a vacant classroom. We start moving our stuff on Monday! Please body, hang tough!
It's late and I'm closing for now! Sleep tight my friends!
Hugs,
DaisyGirl

Life keeps moving.........

Even if you aren't ready! I am back to work, even though I seriously feel like they are putting too much on me. I am trying to keep up with the added workload but in doing so, it has caused my PsA to flare. Ugh! Lol
I have put in applications for a desk job elsewhere. I'm hoping to hear something this summer. Crossing my fingers!!
Someone special has touched my heart and I am glad for it! I love how sincere true friendship can be. In today's busy world with internet, cell phones and many other avenues to talk and greet, it becomes a hustle and bustle world, and it's easy to get caught up in the oo's and ahh's of everything!
I've really gotten into knitting as my vision for cross stitch has become so bad :(
But I am excited to learn new techniques to make new and wonderful gifts! I'm conquering cables! Hooray for me!!!!
Just a few pics and I'll sign off tonight!
Hugs,
Donna May :)

I have knitted so many things!

Learning to knit is wonderful! It is soothing, abet a little frustrating at times, but I'm slowly getting the hang of it! I've made baby booties, a baby hat, scarves and cowls galore! It is exciting seeing something take shape :)
I am still out on medical leave, started rehab on the 10th of Feb. and it's been tough! 3 times a week is taking a toll on my pocketbook! Lol plus having the massage part is nice but still expensive. Ugh! Wished I were rich! Lol
I'm hoping that I get cleared to go back to work next week on reduced workload. It'd be nice to get out again everyday! I'm missing my students. One of my favorite classes sent me handmade cards which brightened my day! What's funny is I've been out since the end of December and I received a get well card from my principal today! I'm scheduled to hopefully go back on the 3rd of March! Kinda late sending the card Dr. Truett! Lol
I have a new great niece! Olivia Fay! Born 6 weeks early but she is doing great! Chunky little monkey! Y'all will love my pictures!
Well, it's almost midnight and I have rehab in the morning! Hugs!
And a big shot out to Lisa! Your kind words made me feel sooooo much better!
DaisyGirl loves ya!

What a mess! I'm sick of sitting!

I have been knitting as much as I can! I am working on my nieces baby gift booties! I finished the second bootie, just have to seam them up! I've also made a cowl for a friend, she paints and I knit, so we swapped! She's making me a wall hanging for my niece for her dorm room!
My hamstring is taking freaking forever, but I knew it would be awhile before I'd be able to walk. I'm getting pretty good with my wheelchair. I got my hamstring brace on the 24th and rehab starts soon for me! :) yea! I'm so lonely and I miss my students at school!
As soon as I get the booties completed, I'll post pictures! These are my first pair!
I have to say that I learned who my real friends from school were. You find out real quick that you are easily replaced and nobody cares enough to call. It does make me sad and my husband has tried to console my poor pitiful heart concerning this matter. A person works for 13 years and thinks that they matter, but if you have to take a leave of absence, you really find out who cares. All I know is I will no longer be donating monies or sending cards to anymore staff members at my school when I return. I know that sounds hateful, but I was really crushed that nobody even sent an email to see how I've been. I've been out since the 13th and I will be out till March 1st as long as I heal quickly.
Enough moaning, lol. Lesson learned, husband says do your job and do not do extra anymore. :(
My dogs are keeping me company thru the days, which does help!
Hoping everyone is surviving the frigid cold weather out there!

3 weeks of non weight bearing on the right leg!

Omg! It's Day 3 and I'm stir crazy! Lol
At least I do have my wheelchair now and crutches so that will help. I had my PRP procedure via CT/Ultrasound on Monday afternoon. I must be a turnip, it took the hospital lab tech 11 try's to draw my stem cells. Finally after an hour of being stabbed and bled, they took what they were able to get and off to the centriufe they went. One hour later they got me set up on the table and got me ready, I have to say, it hurt pretty bad! They don't give you anything due to the risk of meds changing the stem cells, afterward, they gave me something to help with the pain. Now to keep weight off the hamstring for 3 weeks.
Tomorrow will be spent starting a new knitting project, baby booties for my niece's baby shower gift. So cross my fingers I can knit in time!

First ever knitted Cowl!

My first ever knitted cowl! Sweet! I bought this yarn from the Yarn Garden in downtown Lawrenceville. I wished I remembered the name and brand of the yarn! Lol
It is very soft and cozy feeling!
Looks like I'll be getting to sit and knit a lot soon. My results from my MRI are bad news. :(
I have torn 2 of my hamstring tendons from the sit bone. :( totally pulled them off my butt bone! Ugh! Next up is 2 PRP injections in the hamstring region and hope for healing to start, they do the PRP injections one at a time, truthfully, they are horrible! The one I had in August put me down for 5 days! John had to help pick me up, the ortho doc wants to try this first before he decides to cut me open, cause if I have to do that route, I'll be in a leg brace for 6 weeks, then rehab. Ugh!
Who would have ever though this would knock me out for the game! Pray friends, I'm despondent and depressed about not being able to just hop up and go do what I want.

How I rang in the New Year!

Totally loving this yarn! It is very soft and cozy! Hand dyed too, in my favorite colors! It will be a cowl when finished!

Happy New Year's Day Y'all!

My New Year's Resolution.................

To be a better friend, a better blogger, a better wife, a better Momma, all I can do is try :)

2013 has been a hard year for me physically, emotionally and it has been very tiring. I have been injured and my PsA/Sjogrens Syndrome has caused me many anxious days of grief! Ugh!

Torn hamstring has been the bane of my existence since May. I never thought that exercising would have done me in! lol I haven't been able to really get back to exercising in months. I just had another MRI yesterday and go back on the 3rd, with hopefully good news!

I am trying to knit more as it doesn't seem to cause the eye strain. I miss my cross stitch so bad, I can't see the holes in the linen very well, the blurriness is getting worse and it makes me sad.

Hubby is in SC again, and this is a quiet night here in Dacula! I'm trying my best to stay awake for the New Years dropping of the ball!

Hugs,
DaisyGirl

Where does the time go?

I am such a bad blogger! So much has occurred and I am overwhelmed! Y'all know I had some hip issues and well, ended up having to have a procedure on the hip in August. I struggled thru the surgery and the post op period, it was an experimental procedure called PRP injection. Lets just say, I may not do the second one! Lol. They take your blood and centrifuge it, then they inject that back into the injured area and cross your fingers! No pain meds to help ease the pain of trying to reach the hip joint, plus I had to be free of all my PsA/Sjogrens meds for 7 days before the procedure. So I'm sure you can guess, a flare occurred and the pain was horrible. It's been 3 and a half weeks and I still can't sleep on my right side! Ugh! Rehab is ordered, but John has been out of work for 15 weeks, and I just can't afford my 55 dollar copay twice a week! Double ugh!
Keep your fingers crossed that his company gets the bid! They've been told they have about a week's worth, just waiting to see if they win the next job bid!
Thank goodness we did have money saved, but our account is getting pretty skinny! Lol
One to good news though, I won a $50 gift certificate at Laurel's Stitchery shop online! I've waited until after market to shop so I can get some of the newest goodies that are out there!
The bottom pic is after surgery and I didn't dare show the pic with tears!
My dogs Huckleberry and Wally have kept me company during my recovery time! I'm finally back to work, but work is helping me out when I have to mop the floors! Thanks to a great cafe staff that really does like me :)
This is so long, that I'll break for now and post more later!
Hugs from me!

My summer is drifting away......

It's been totally crazy how time just keeps slipping away! I know I have been very busy and man I need a break! I worked so hard to get my sister in law to be's pool up and running, 2 weeks of almost non stop work, and I can proudly say "it's ready"!
We surprised my brother for his 44th birthday by having a pool party, he really was surprised!
Onto the stitching front! I'm working on the Hometown Holiday village series from LHN, my goal is to have at least 3 to 4 completed by Christmas time for my mantel!
Health wise I'm doing fine except for the pesky PsA/Srogrens Syndrome that plagues me. I have developed bursitis in my hip, physical therapy is tough, it hurts! I have been advised that I shouldn't walk anymore! What the heck! I can swim ( but to do that I gotta drive 30 minutes one way ), I can buy a bicycle, but I just spent money on a new elliptical machine!
All I know is arthritis is very mean and I hate it! Ok, my pitiful vent is over!
Good news though, my son Jason has got engaged to Aliyiah, I fear I may have mis spelled her name! It will be a long engagement since she is on a mission trip to Africa. Time will tell! But she makes my son very happy and that's all that matters! They tease me by telling me they are gonna give me Oreo babies! I told them, I love Oreos, but they need to wait before any grandchildren are brought in this world! I'm not ready to be a Nana! Lol
Here's a few pics from the weekend! Enjoy and hugs from DaisyGirl!

Where have I been?

Life certainly doesn’t stop, does it?  I have missed my blog, yet I wasn’t such a great steward of it these past long years. I was sucked ...
